Prices were a bit high for the average person, but they did have good food, good atmosphere, and good waitress's.

My wife and I had seafood. It was okay but nothing special. I didn't think the portions were enough considering the price of the food. The restaurant doesn't appear to be clean.

I was driving around looking for a different restaurant but when I went around twice decided to come in. My waitress was polite and helpful. She brought fresh hush puppies. Must be a New Bern thing. They were hot and tasty. I ordered the oyster stew and the oyster burger. The oyster stew was very fresh. I would have liked... More

We really enjoyed our meals plus the staff was very friendly. Lots of fishing decorations and fishing equipment in the restaurant. The catfish was really good.

This was also recommended to us as a place where the "locals eat". The food was good, but again, nothing to write home about. It's an average place with no frills. Service was good though. I had the crab cakes which were actually excellent. Very good flavor.

I was a bit put off originally by the atmosphere and the plastic baskets and everything disposable, but had no complaints about the food. It was very busy which showed its popularity.

We took our entire family for dinner and not one of us enjoyed our meal. The crab dip appetizer was tasty, but cold; the toast points were burnt and not edible. I ordered a Tuna steak that arrived butterflied open and less than a 1/2 inch thick. It was soooo over cooked. My husband ordered a large platter and most... More

I almost cried because I couldn't finish the last two jumbo shrimp on my plate, and I felt ridiculous asking for a to go box for just the two of them. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, right after the church crowds had cleared out. Even after a rush of customers the service was great, the food came out... More

Sting Ray Cafe is located across the street from Tryon Museum so we took a break to eat there before touring the Palace. The place isn't fancy but the meals were amazing. Two people ordered the grilled salmon and I ordered a pound of boiled shrimp. My shrimp was very fresh and tasted amazing. My husband and friend said the... More

Try the steamed items. Real taste of the shrimp! Don't expect fancy dinnerware - seafood cooked like the shrimpers and others who make a living from the sea.
