I always refer to the owners as the "hotdog barons". This place has done a good job of making a solid business outta boiled hotdogs in an electric skillet and selling chicken salad and banana pudding. Racks of chips and fountain drinks and you get the picture. Dogs are prepped when you order and there is a line at lunch,... More

Best hot dogs in Monroe, can not be beat. You only get one free refill of your drink though so don't get thirsty. Be advised this is a cash only business but the hot dogs make it all worthwhile.

The Oasis is an institution in my hometown. Along the lines of Katz Deli and Greys Papaya in NY, Central Grocery in N'Awlins, Parker's Barbecue in Wilson. They have for 60 years of my life, the best "Carolina style" hot dog anywhere. That is a hot dog on a steamed bun with mustard, chili, slaw and onions. You can leave... More

We visited Monroe for a funeral and asked at the church where we could get coffee. We were sent here. The counter staff told me that they were known for their "dogs (hot dogs.) We both had Russian tea ( a tea doctored with sprinkled cinnamon and orange peel and I believe it is sweetened), a piece of sweet potato... More

Service has gotten really slow the last few months and the owner's attitude is only customer friendly these days if you are a local he knows. The hot dog preparations are very slow now, especially when a grilled cheese is ready before a hot dog- that was my order with only three small orders ahead of me. I watched 3... More

We came here for lunch as we had a hard time finding anything in the area that wasn't a subway attached to a gas station. First knock is this place does not accept credit or debit cards...definitely just doesn't make sense to me in this day of age that you wouldn't accept the most widely used form of payment. The... this place has some of the best hotdogs around, however they do not take debit or credit cards therefore I had to change my order to accomodate the amount of cash I had on me at the time. I would recommend catching up with the times and get a credit or debit card machine. Also, the smell of the inside... More

Best dogs around and fast service. I like sitting at the tables on the sidewalk. There's always someone willing to have a pleasant conversation with.
