I am a huge fan of Vivian Howard. Recently we drove 1/12 hours to visit my sister in law and go to the Boiler Room Oyster Bar. I consider myself somewhat of a good judge of oysters, having enjoyed them for over 50 yrs. My...More

Vivian and Ben's second restaurant. I love the burgers but enjoy many other items on the menu. Definitely not just a burger place!

Let me start off by saying I eat more oysters than an average person should. I love them, but they aren’t for everyone. The Boiler Room has fantastic dolled-up oysters and big meaty ones at that. The General Lee Rooster is formidable, but worth a...More

The dozen oysters I ordered were great. They were salty and tad sweet. The house made saltines are the best. This place is simply great atmosphere for oysters. I literally bought the tee shirt.

Spent the night in Kinston and decided to try the burgers at the Boiler Room. My husband said that his burger was the best that he’d had in years. We shared a banana pudding for dessert. It was delicious, too!

Unexpectedly wonderful lunch. The pimiento cheese dip with “crackers “ was excellent. Enjoyed our burgers and the poutine fries. The boilerfeller oysters were good, but I think I would have preferred plain oysters. Friendly and attentive staff—Tyler was awesome.

Correction I meant they don't take reservations but Chef and the Farmer does take reservations. Both are owned by Vivian Howard.

No they do not. Like most places, going on the early side ensures seating. It starts to fill up 7ish, and during the week it is not likely to be a big problem.
