The Smoky Mountain Dinner serves the only early breakfast in Hot Springs, N. C. This might not be the place for you if you’re in a hurry, however. When you’re in Hot Springs, somehow speed doesn’t seem important—the food here is pretty basic—although my wife still wonders why her oatmeal, which she swears was instant, took longer than my western... Honestly based on the reviews I was expecting better quality food. We were not impressed, the food seemed all straight from the can or freezer which is fine but it all tasted bland and overall very average for a food joint. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great! I'd try another place next time in hot... More

Stopped for lunch, had the meatloaf and grilled cheese. I know, who can't make grilled cheese, you're right, but not everyone can make meatloaf and cornbread. The meatloaf was really good, and the cornbread reminded me of what my Dad used to make. Staff was friendly (It's amazing if you're friendly and talk to people, they reciprocate) and courteous, food... More

After a long cold morning on the Appalachian trail, we made it into Hot Springs. The first establishment we saaw was the glorious Smoky Mountain Diner! I can't say enough good things about this place. We raved about the food here for months afterwards. The first meal we ate here was so delicious we had to come back here the... More

This is a perfect spot to have breakfast! The food was hearty and we received excellent service. The pancakes smelled and tasted heavenly!

Good home cooked food in a family setting. This is the kind of place where the locals eat. They have an awesome breakfast selection with great breakfast food and prices as well as a lunch and dinner options with good country vegetables. I had corn fritters and fried apples today that melted my taste buds.

... from a menu that had a wide variety of healthy dishes, including vegan and vegetarian. However, our desire for fried chicken livers and fried okra won out. Both were good, although the livers had cooked just a tad too long. My husband got apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream - another unhealthy choice - and it was good,... More

We were sightseeing around the area and decided to try this place when we found out they had sandwiches with fried green tomatoes! We were not disappointed. I had the pimento cheese and it was delicious! You have a choice of french fries, onion rings, soup of the day, or cobbler and ice cream with their specialty sandwiches.

Best place to eat in Hot Springs, morning, noon or evening. Priced right, wonderful service, great coffee. They know how too cook.

We ate here several times for breakfast and lunch and the food is good and the portions are enormous. The service was almost entirely perfect aside from one server who was a bit on the grumpy side, but she seemed to be that way with everyone so maybe that is just her demeanor. The giant breakfast skillet is worth a... More
