Took my family to Vin Rouge for Sunday brunch, and we all ((7 of us) enjoyed it. First, the place was packed, and we had a short wait, which was worth it. Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, and excellent coffee. Excellent menu including various versions of Eggs Benedict or omelets. Each of us tried different choices and all pronounced them very... More

I was driving up to Durham with my wife as we had tickets to a concert at Carolina Theater and wanted a nice dinner. Vin Rouge was a great choice. The menu was perfect for both of us to find exactly what we wanted. The wine list was really good and the atmosphere was quiet when we started as we... More

I had extremely high expectations for this restaurant. The overall experience was hectic and choppy. The service was friendly the meals a mixed bag. I am a good cook so I tend to order foods that "I can't get at home." Imordered calf's liver. I was asked for my desired degree of doneness. I stated medium. It was well done... More

While visiting Duke, Vin Rouge was one of the few restaurants open. We chose this restaurant because the parking lot was full at 5:30 pm and figured that meant good food within! We were right. The raw oysters were some of the best I've ever had. The salad was crisp and very flavorful. The mussels were amazing, we tried two... More

It is hard to review this one since I came on Valentine's day with a set menu. The Valentine menu had a premium of $20 over the a la carte menu. Anyways, I had the braised pork which was good and tender, but a little lacking in sauce typical of french cuisine. I had trout salad which was actually bigger... More

This was my first time for brunch at Vin Rouge and it was every bit as good as the many dinners I've eaten there. I ordered the eggs benedict which were perfectly cooked with a delicious freshly made hollandaise sauce. The pomme frites were crisp and tasty. My wife ordered the French toast and bacon which were delicious as well.... More

This is a terrific place for Sunday brunch. The French toast and coffee are outstanding. My husband loved his eggs Benedict .

Visiting Vin Rouge reminds me being in a French bistro in Provence. The food is phenomenal! It is actually the 5th time I visit this restaurant the last 2 months! The mussels are one of their top choices! For the fans of steak tartare I totally recommend you to order it! Great bouillabaisse and homemade bearnaise for the steaks are... More

I love Vin Rouge; however, the menu has not changed in years. A great restaurant changes the menu with the seasons. It has now become boring.

The food is phenomenal. If you like country French and who wouldn't. One visit here and you will be sure to return again. The Oyster appetizer in baked cheese was wonderful as was the chicken liver pate. The mountain trout with a ragout and the pork-chop with apple was the best my wife has ever had. Don't miss this place... More
