My company had a client dinner here the first week of November. You work up an appetite walking up the stairs to the restaurant, which is inside the museum. The decor is very earthy chic with tables made from actual trees with bark still intact. The cheese and meat boards were tasty for appetizers. I had a posole soup that... More

The four of us were attending a lecture at Knight Theatre so this restaurant is perfect- right across the street. Beautiful inside with decor, furnishings and overlooking the square. The waiter started by announcing almost every thing on the menu- in detail- before the drinks were ordered. We stopped him and said that was more than we could absorb, so... More

We chose the Halcyon because it was located in the Mint Museum Uptown with a wonderful view of the square and town. The décor is a lovely white tablecloth classic with a large patio as well. The restaurant was full to the brim, so we knew we would need to wait for a while to be seated, but unfortunately we... More

I am in Charlotte for a meeting and ate alone. This was one of the top-rated restaurants within easy walking distance of my hotel. It is actually a little hard to find, because it is up a set of steps and the street address is not prominent. I was here for dinner, but wasn't famished, so had two light starters... More

Note the tables - they are made from real tree trunks - a sliver of it. Pretty neat. The food is different, but very good. I had the Kale and Quinoa salad with grilled cauliflower . . . I was quite surprise at how small the plate was for 13$! My co-workers had the ribeye salad and the other had... More

Found this place looking for farm to table restaurants in Charlotte. Been there a few times. Great menu. Love the small plates concept. Let me try new dishes every visit. The beet salad is a winner. The rabit was ok, the cheese plate is delicious. Also tried the steak. Their wine list diverse and moderately priced. Service was prompt and... More

Went for lunch with family. Was looking for a restaurant that wasn't your typical lunch menu and I'm glad to say I found it. Their menu is very unique, service was great, food was presented uniquely and was delicious. Everyone was very happy with their selections. Nice atmosphere looking out on S. Tryon Street and has outside patio to enjoy... More

Halcyon tends toward the casual upscale dining. The dishes and drinks are imaginative. And the service is very attentive. I tried their Some Pig cocktail. Give it a try then ask about how it's made. Think bacon. Then I focused on small plates to try more flavors. The ceviche was good but not great. (I try ceviche wherever I go... More

Went to this place for lunch. I had the pork belly sandwich, was good but feel I didn't get enough pork belly. Fries were good. Location is great just inside the Mint Museum and easy to get to.

It is so refreshing to visit a venue and stimulated by so many options in menu. Could not choose. Prosciutto crusty roll in background, Vegetarian Phyllo was a little small at font, extremely tasty. Perfect with iced tea.
