We decided to celebrate our birthdays at the Palio as we had not tried it yet. Food was excellent and well prepared , though on the overly salty side. Nice selection , not the classical italian. Great selection of wines served at the right temperature....More

I've been to Italy four times and this is the most genuine interpretation of Italian cuisine this side of the ocean! Not to be missed. The mussels were amazing, the bolognese the best I've ever had and the wine list is exhaustive and accessible.

This was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and we had not realized that it was a night for Prix Fixe only. Fortunately, the staff was very accomodating and allowed us to share a single meal, and I am very glad that they did! (The kitchen staff was...More

After our initial experience where we thoroughly enjoyed, our last experiences, culminating with New Years Eve, have left us saying we will not return. The menu was fixed and choices seemed fine; however, everything had that 'pre cooked-pre plated' feel. Specifically, my wife got the...More

Quaint restaurant with a native Italian server made the meal extra special. He was born about 20 miles away from my husband's family and they reminisced about the region's cuisine. The bread was amazing--served in an authentic cloth-like paper bag. We both had a signature...More

As a fun Valentine celebration, we hoped to enjoy a wonderful meal with our daughter after a day visiting University of North Carolina's beautiful campus. Hostess and servers were kindly and welcoming. There was a set 4 course menu for the romantic holiday, with several...More

I was so excited to eat here after reading the fab reviews but what a disappointment. Before you think I'm some uninformed person who doesn't know good food, we've eaten at some exceptional restaurants in the U.S., Italy and South Africa. The choose your bruschetta...More

Been here 3 or 4 times. Love the food, love the service! It's expensive but well worth it for a special occasion.

Description
Il Palio is an intimate restaurant located in the Siena Hotel. We strive to emulate the best of the great Italian tradition of hospitality and quality at the table and in the glass. Our vision is simple - use the best local and Italian ingredients as purely as possible and serve them with comfort and pride. We cook as an Italian might in North Carolina.
