We discovered this restaurant during Covid and have done takeout many times. You pick up your food inside - no curbside delivery. When we get the food home, it is always hot. I don't understand the comments from those who say it is overpriced. Huh? Main courses are several dollars cheaper than we pay in Raleigh, and the meals include bread! Other places charge 3 dollars for naan. The bread is roghani naan not tandori naan, but is not too different. The Butter chicken is $11.00 and includes rice and bread. My favorite Indian restaurant in Raleigh charges $16.00 for butter chicken and $3.00 for bread. My favorite dish at Cilantro is the Samosa Chat. I could eat it all day long. The sauce on top makes the dish. Lots of flavors going on with the Shahi Biryani. That is my second favorite dish after the Samosa chat. I give it 4 stars rather than 5 because I find the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala to be a bit on the bland side. We asked for spicy and they were not. Of course, the next time, when we complained that the food wasn't spicy enough, they made sure our order that night was plenty spicy!

This is a casual counter-service Indian restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I was actually somewhat shocked at the nice decor on the inside for what was otherwise a quick-serve Indian place. The service was great and very friendly. I was a little dissapointed that the food was very spicy. The flavors were rich and tasty, but my wife and I both asked for our dishes to be mild. However, they came out VERY spicy, thus my 4 out of 5 review. The flavors were still rich and authentic (I've traveled in India before), and that side dish of chickpea salad stuff was amazing. If you're keen on spicy food, go for it. The place was crowded with customers, so it seems to be popular. They also had some good-looking desserts in the case, but I didn't have time to try them. I also found the prices to be a little bit higher than average for Indian food. For $16 I had a lamb dish which included bread, a side salad, and a fountain soda. All of this is included in the set price. I normally just order water to both save money and avoid unhealthy sodas, so the idea of forcing me to pay for it one way or another seemed strange.

I really loved this place. My wife and I had a wonderful spicy potato appetizer with a tasty tamarind sauce. My wife had a very nice chicken curry. I had chicken tikka masala, but not prepared in any way I had tried before. The name of the restaurant rings true but I failed to really notice that and I am no fan of cilantro, which covered our potatoes and main dishes. We loved the ambience of the place which used lace to divide booths and sections of the dining room. The service was brilliant! The young man who took our order, I believe his name was Raghib, provided the best service of any individual I have encountered since the pandemic began. I was completely impressed with his cheerful manner and knowledge of his establishment. My one criticism/suggestion is that some member of the wait staff should move through the dining room to explain dishes and offer any assistance. If I lived several hours closer I would be a regular.

We love getting take out from Cilantro. Always very friendly and generous portions. I don't claim to be very knowledgeable about Indian food, but they offer quite a variety and I've enjoyed everything I've ever ordered. Always fresh and very aromatic. Much better than other Indian Ive have in the Triangle. Highly recommend it. The only thing I will say is that their dining room seems very casual, so don't expect to be wow'd by the decor, but do expect to be wow'd by the food!

So it was my Birthday and I chose to dine at Cilantro Indian Cafe for lunch with Friends. Glad I did as several friends had not been and were rather shy about Indian food. Two do not care for spicy foods, so I suggested the Butter Chicken or Butter Shrimp and they were both very pleased. I had the Saag (spinach) with fish (tilapia) and it was just as perfect as the first time I visited, coupled with Ginger tea (another favorite). Family owned and operated, if you enjoy quality Indian food, let Cilantro serve your next meal! (Thank me later)

Best service and great food!! We came and were great by the nicest man. When ordering he made sure we knew the heat of the items that were spicy. The wait was minimal. The food was a good value for the money and was the perfect amount. We got the Butter chicken (not spicy) and the chicken tikka kabob (spicy!). The kabobs was a little too spicy for a couple members so when the owner/manager and noticed that it was too spicy for us he brought us some yogurt and plain rice. That helped cool the spicy but not the flavor! So good!! We will definitely be back anytime we get Indian!

Saw a FB post for Cilantro Indian Cafe (which has always been one of my absolute favs in our area) showcasing a "Coconut Fish Soup so I could not wait to have it. Met a Friend today at Cilantro Indian Cafe and had the soup which is one of the best I've ever had (coming in a close 2nd was their Daal), which was my introduction to this fabulous restaurant! My Friend chose the Saag Fish (which is my "go-to meal here" and she loved it as well. My Soup paired beautifully with the Ginger tea that I often order because it is so good! If you like spicy, they will do you right at Cilantro Indian Cafe, but if you don't, still come and try the "Butter Chicken" which is mild but tasty! Hope to see you soon at Cilantro Indian Cafe (family owned, small business)!

It's a nice casual spot for dinner. Tikka masala was excellent. Some items were too 🔥. Aloo Gobi burned off my taste buds. Lol. I'd go back again.

Absolutely loved the Indian food I got here. The food was out of this world, definitely the best food I’ve had around the area.

I expected better food due to the higher reviews they have received. I had the butter chicken which came with naan, rice and a chickpea salad. Everything was rather bland, it tasted worse than the pouch foods you buy at the grocery store, is Taste of India. The naan was cold, flavorless and seemed like it was fresh out of a bag instead of an oven. The butter chicken, was tasteless, no spices at all. The rice was ok, but really, how can you mess up rice. The chickpea salad was ok but nothing special. They get 2 stars for the service and atmosphere but 0 stars for flavor.

I love Indian food and have happily eaten my way around Cilantro's menu! It all started with a bowl of Dal and from my first spoonful knew I had found a very special place! My favorite dish is Saag fish, which is spinach in the most amazing sauce with a light, white fish marinating in it. They bring a salad of chick peas, cucumbers, and onions as well as naan and a side of basmati rice. I have dined with friends (one who love the Vegetable Korma) and those who love lamb! Compliments continue to come! I get a cup of Ginger Tea with my meal and always get a "Messy Mocha" for dessert! This restaurant is run by a Family with both Father and Mother involved as well as the handsome sons they have. If you are not that familiar with Indian food or "don't care for spices" you can still go and order their spectacular "butter chicken" and be fine! This restaurant is the best kept secret in Cary, NC! Hard to find, but so worth the search!

Been to Cilantro couple of times. Novel ambiance with lot of philosophical and funny messages on the walls that wears of after a visit or two. Have to order food first at main desk, get your own water, simple tables/charis, Ok quality food, same side salad with every order, only one choice of nan (bread) limited choices in main dishes
