We tried The Old Salt based on a recommendation from friends, who had eaten a delicious dinner there recently. We only had time for lunch, but it was perfect. Friendly staff, eager to please, food was delicious, atmosphere was charming. I had the special shrimp tacos. Shrimp were lightly friend, sweet, absolutely fresh. The birthday boy had the classic soft... More

We ate here for lunch on a nice Saturday afternoon in November. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. I ordered the tuna tacos- which were on their board outside as part of a lunch special. They were very good- nothing to die for but a very tasty lunch. Our server was excellent. When we got the... I ordered the scallops, they were very fresh and well cooked. we ate in the lounge area of the bar which can sometimes be bad but it was not. Our waitress was the bartender but had no problem keeping up with us and her bar patrons. I did especially like the fact we can color on our paper tablecloth. Something... More

Really unassuming little place with a friendly staff and a good menu for a quick lunch. We asked them to put our Oyster "burger" on a wrap with the house special sauce and it was really good flavor. Fries were ok but enhanced with the home made catsup all in all a nice little joint

This place used to be the Net House which was a long time favorite. When Old Salt opened we knew we had to give it a try. We went here last year but just had appetizers and a beer. This year we made a point to come here for dinner. It was a great meal. (See photos) And the butter... More

What a pleasant find. I had the soft shell crab burger, a first for me, being a fan of SS Crab. The house fries were great and the butter cake is a must, worth the extra mile you will need to walk it off :)

Great food, good service. Can you say homemade? Housemade sauces and dressings including ketchup! Yum! Delicious chowder, desserts and fries. We all enjoyed our meals and will be back.

The moment I entered Old Salt, I felt welcomed. The hostess and server were both warm and personable and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was my first time to Beaufort and they were both eager to tell me all about the town and gave plenty of good recommendations. The food, on the other hand, wasn’t quite as good.... More

Service: friendly, professional. Food: Poor, disappointing. We had dinner. I won't go into great detail. It was so bad. We went because it was ranked 6th on Trip Advisor, and the reviews seemed ok. When we left, we felt totally ripped off. There are so many other options in Beaufort. Never again.

We had a terrific meal at Old Salt. The food was all quite good, well prepared, fresh ingredients - very tasty. The service was terrific as well, with a server who took the time to take good care of us, even though it was a busy night. We will definitely be back.
