Excellent service & tasty food. Highly recommend this place. Excellent Mexican family run restaurant - felt very authentic. We visited on Monday while they had karaoke night - great fun!

My husband and I had a delicious meal meal here after a day of visiting underground caves. We had a catch of the day with butter and garlic ("mojo de ajo") and a delicious mixed seafood ceviche. The restaurant is laid back and very clean....If you visit Chemuyil, definitely stop by this place :)More

we really like this place, the service is great, and food is good, and its simple and real! The guys are always friendly and honestly I have never eaten something I haven't liked! the only down side is the smoking all through out. IT would...be kind of nice if was only in certain areas, away from us who can't handle the smell!More

Always good! Service is friendly and Carlos and the team remember you and your favourites. Fresh and I mean fresh daily specials. The drinks are strong. Enjoy! Only 1 truly vegan/gluten free meal on the menu but veggie fajitas are yummy.

Each time we visit the area we look forward to eating at La Palapa. Carlos is the perfect host and the food is fantastic. My favorite is he whole fried fish. The giant grilled shrimp with tequila sauce is so delicious too. We travel a...lot and I can truly say that La Palapa is my favorite restaurant. You will not be disappointed.More

My wife and I just arrived in Akumal and the first restaurant we went to was La Palapa because we missed it and we knew it would be great. The prices are fair and reasonable and the menu offers lots of choices. Drinks are good,...service is wonderful and we feel they appreciate our business. A win-win for all. This night we had shrimp nachos and the special very large fresh shrimp in a garlic and butter sauce, beers, vodka tonics in a relaxing atmosphere.More

we went to this little restaurant for my birthday,,,My husband had the lobster and i had the jumbo shrimp OMG...They brought the lobsters out and had him pick his lobster,,impressive..we also had the fried calamari for an appetizer the best i have ever had. My...jumbo shrimp were HUGE, grilled to perfection with garlic butter so very tasty, his lobster was also grilled with garlic butter and it was mouth watering just to look at it. The drinks were excellent. Loved the whole atmosphere of the restaurant, town everything. The staff were so so friendly,,,Oh and dont pass on the fried ice cream,, YUMMY...we were there for 3 hours enjoying cocktails and music,,,a little pricey but well worth itMore

If you’re looking for a good, local place this is it. Live music that gets your feet moving, grilled Caribbean lobster without equal, and the very best octopus around.

We have been customers for years but it has become so overwhelming and crowded. Gone are the days of enjoying a quiet meal and laughing and enjoying the staff. I am happy they are so popular and people are enjoying the change. I miss the...cheaper prices and it being more family oriented. I will continue to bring my business there when it is not crazy busy😘 dont change to muchMore

No. They did not take credit cards when we were there in December 2017. It is very reasonable and very good food.
