New ownership in the last couple of years has given a renewed sense of purpose to this Irish cottage of a pub, nestled in one of Woodside's busiest corners. Good stiff drinks, nice selection, friendly staff, hearty pub grub fare, including the really good burgers, shepard's pie, fish and chips, onion soup, etc.; very comfortable atmosphere, very chill. Enjoy.

We have been here many times. The drinks flow, the food is pretty good and they always treat you right. It's a little dated, but that's the charm of this place. Would recommend it.

I started coming here in 1998, when I first moved to Woodside. At the time, it was an authentic Irish pub in what was then a heavily Irish neighborhood. When the place was sold, I figured it would go downhill and it did, but slowly. As recently as 2014, the food was still passable. The service was never overly friendly,... More

A decent lunch and drink spot. It is just a tad dark inside, but the food is decent and the drinks are fine. Especially the 11am to 6 pm happy hour. Service is ok, could be friendlier, but typical of most of the Irish themed establishments in the neighborhood.

Donovan's is an old-school Irish bar that hasn't changed much in recent decades. (That being said, it's in Woodside, the diversity capital of the world, and everybody is welcome there.) One constant over the years is the hamburger: every year it's ranked among the best in New York City, and that's saying a lot - there are a lot of... More

My friends took me there for dinner. We had a fun time sitting at the bar and eating wings. Yummy. A helpful barman who suggested which wings we should choose. A nice selection of beers, mostly European, but they have a few local choices. No one asked us to leave as soon as we finished our wings. It was OK... More

A nice place, the food is good, and the place has a nice comfortable atmosphere. Decent lunch menu nice steak and salad. Price is a little on the higher side, and the service could be a little friendlier. But kind of typical service for the area.

The burgers at this large pub were pretty good. The sides like the onion rings and fries were decent. There are many rooms, and the bar is a nice spot. It's a transporting experience. The crowd seems like it is comprised of regulars. And the service was very friendly and accommodating.

Had an absolutely rude experience with server Anne Marie. No customer should be treated non-stop to such rudeness from start to finish. Very disappointed in the new owners for a lack of expectations and supervision regarding their employees. Obviously, she is running the ship, not them. After many year of patronage, I was embarrassed in front of my friends for... More
