We were needing a place to grab lunch near the airport and Charlies was recommended to us. When we got there, we were not quite sure about the place. There was a small aisle where you placed your order and a glass window separating a...More

I had tried beef on weck elsewhere and wasn’t that impressed. But when I had family in town I wanted to give them a Buffalo food tour and decided to hit up Charlie’s after all the amazing things I’ve heard. I’m now a fan of...More

Nothing fancy, a few booths and tables, main attraction is the food. Ordered the Beef on Wreck and it delivered. Food was great, service was as expected. Definitely recommend to anyone local or visiting.

An upcoming visit to Buffalo found my wife ordering Charlie's fantastic roast beast from Vietnam. The woman on the phone was super friendly and accomodating. Upon arrival, pick up went smooth and devouring commenced. Such a good way to fill the belly before nodding off...More

First visit so figured better get the beef. The bun was great, beef was warm and did not have much taste. Fries are frozen not fresh cut. Place looks like it needs a good cleaning. Don't really get the interest.

I have eaten here many times, but most recently last week, after returning to the airport from a trip. On this occasion, I had the turkey on a bun and potato wedges, my husband had the roast beef on a bun and prime rib stew,...More

Description
As our name suggests, Charlie's grandfather started the business as an actual butcher shop in downtown Buffalo in 1915. Three generations later, Charlie The Butcher took the roasts out of the butcher case, slow roasts them, carves them with the skill of a surgeon (or butcher) and has perfected Buffalo's Famous Beef on Weck Sandwich.
