We stopped here for a quick lunch before heading home. What a find! This is a small shop that's been around for ages. The food is so good. I finally understand the whole Beef on Weck thing - it's sooooo good! They are carving the...More

Unpretentious place with great food. Ordered a beef on kümmelweck. Added horseradish as a finishing touch. Simply wonderful. The top of the roll dipped in au jus was perfect. Would absolutely make a return visit. I really enjoyed the sandwhich. Next time will try the...More

After researching many local places, we decided to try This place. The beef on week was great. It was a good casual stop after a long day of traveling. Staff was fairly friendly. Nothing super fancy but it was a good stop.

If you like a beef sandwich, this is the place to go. It is right by the airport. We got our rental car and headed straight there and were not disappointed!!!! Highly recommend.

Just beat the lunch rush showing up at 11:30. Charlie himself was at the helm and everything was outstanding. Beef on Weck for me, burgers for the boys and a chicken for my wife. Absolutely the best milkshakes I've ever had, wish we lived closer!

If you visit Buffalo forget the iconic chicken wings, head straight for Charlie the Butcher for some beef on weck. What is weck? - a very tasty, salty roll that is the perfect partner for melt in your mouth roast beef. Close to the airport...More

By far the best Beef on Weck I've had. The meat is amazingly tender and lean. It was perfect with just a touch of horseradish. The side of coleslaw was fantastic as well. I can't wait to try something else on the menu during my...More

I hadn't been to Charlie's in a few years and forgot how good they were. Beef was freshly carved upon ordering and placed on a very fresh, authentic weck roll. Sandwich was still ready very quick, faster than many "fast food" places. The soup of...More

As our name suggests, Charlie's grandfather started the business as an actual butcher shop in downtown Buffalo in 1915. Three generations later, Charlie The Butcher took the roasts out of the butcher case, slow roasts them, carves them with the skill of a surgeon (or butcher) and has perfected Buffalo's Famous Beef on Weck Sandwich.
