This is a great little restaurant in a small strip mall on Old Country Road. We ordered take-out, but there is also a nice dining room. We both ordered the chicken kebab, one with Greek salad and one with rice. We ordered a side of...grilled vegetables. The kebabs also came with little side salads. We easily had enough food to feed 4 hearty eaters! The food was very tasty. The seasonings could have been a bit more robust, but that is a minor thing. This is a great place to go if you want a break from the usual Italian fare in the area.More

It’s nice place with table clothes and attentive staff. When we were seated they brought out pita bread w/ yogurt. Food came fairly quickly. We had a different dishes: like lamb kebab, shrimp kebab, chicken kebab and lamb chops. Everyththig comes with side of rice....They ask - white or brown? The brown rice is not regular brown rice, it is the same as white but with soy sauce all over it. Lamb kebab was tough. Shrimp was okay. Chicken was okay. Lamb chops were the most expensive $28, just okay. For us it was, okay we tried this place, was okay, not impressed, next time will something other place. P.S. Samarkand place in queens is really good.More

On our way back home we were looking for a place to eat. We saw the sign for the Azerbaijan Restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. For those who are familiar with Turkish and Greek cuisine, much will seem...familiar to you. But there are surprises. I picked the Stew of the Day...lamb and eggplant in an aromatic sauce. The dish came with Basmati rice and pita bread. Very delicious. My wife had three hot appetizers- felafel, a type of samosa and a chunky eggplant dip. Equally superb.Fairly priced, good service and ambiance. The strip area where it is located is a little seedy. But, don't be dissuaded from trying this excellentdining experience.More

I love this place. There lamb and steak and white fish soperb. The BW, beautiful wife, loves the Cornish game hen. There dishes come with rice, but we prefer their salad for an extra $3. Highly recommended. We go every 2 months.

Azerbaijan was located very close to our hotel, and was highly recommended by our cousins who live nearby. Though we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, or was a pleasure talking to the locals who were familiar with the menu and made...several great suggestions. We had two different kebabs, veggie and lamb, and a Meze platter to share among three people, and the portions were very generous, so it worked out to be enough food. Everything was delicious, with very high quality ingredients used throughout. You could tell that great care was taken with each dish. The seasoning was perfect. The kebabs were sizzling. I’d come again soon, but we live in California. This place is way better than our local middle eastern restaurant.More

I nice little place, the staff are nice, food is average ( I had the fish ) but the kebab smelled really good. I might go to try that out and maybe I'll update my review then.

My first time in Azerbaijan and I’m truest impressed. Spent few unforgettable days in Qabala and enjoyed its fresh air and Mountain View then went to Baku which was so impressive. If it is your first visit you need to read a bit about the...history of the country and the culture. Food is amazing as everything is fresh and their tea comes with yummy homemade jams. I know, it sounds weird but when you try it you will never take sugar again. You also need to understand that English is not so common in many areas. Hotels are well designed and as the rest of the country have impressive decor and architecture. You need at least 10 days to cover a couple of places in detail hence, I’m yet to visit again. Kids also loved it. Highly recommended for families and groups..More

A friend and I went here for dinner I didn't expect it to be so quiet at 6AM, but soon after we ordered, the restaurant filled quickly. I ordered the Kobideh Kebab, which is "skewers of grilled seasoned ground beef with house special spices. My...friend ordered the Adana Kebab, of "ground lamb, in a special house seasoning." Her dinner was large enough, that I had almost half of it plus my own. Easily this meal w a good deal and very delicious. Even before receiving part of her dinner, I had enough to eat with the rice and the grilled tomato and onion. For some people ("seniors"), they recognize a good deal, and soon after we had our food, over 50% of the restaurant filled with senior diners. I highly recommend this for singles, couples, even families. Nothing is too highly seasoned to scare you away.More

Food is plentiful (plenty of leftovers to bring home); everyone enjoyed their dishes, and it was very reasonably priced. Three of us had fish or seafood and one had meat. No one had any complaints about their food or the service. If I had to...mention one weakness, it would be that they don't have an extensive wine list. Our reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night. By 7:00 there was a line to get in. I've been there during the week and they have nice specials and no lines.More

Food is great! This restaurant is in one of the malls. People don’t speak English only Russian. We were crooked with double the prize for the food! A local explained it to us after we raised our concerns! Be aware!

Had their green rice with grilled Salmon and it was wonderful. Great staff and reasonably priced. Will visit again. Ask for the green rice which is not on the menu and you will be wonderfully surprised.

I had driven by this place for years, but never stopped in. Decided to finally stop by and try it out. MAN am I glad I did. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, nothing too special. The service is attentive and friendly, again nothing too...special. The food is the star here, and it shines brightly. The hummus is fine, while the babaganoush is very good. The adan kebab is off the charts tasty and perfectly cooked. Accoutrement which are so often overlooked are fantastic too- you'd think that a grilled tomato and onion couldn't be memorable but you'd be wrong. The rice is prepared in a way that only someone whos been doing it for years could do. Add to that the cherry rice upgrade and WOW. The thing I like the most about this place is that although the menu is not extensive, my wife and I were able to enjoy dinner together. When it comes to ordering, we are complete opposites, and Azerbaijan was able to provide each of us with delectable meals that we have since returned for. Don't be like me and pass by without stopping in. SO worth it.More

We entered the restaurant with our friends and within a minute we were given a menu to order. Great! Waiter returned less than a minute later and asked if we wanted a drink from the bar. In less than five minutes he wanted our order,...but we were still chatting and had not looked at the menu yet. Less than two minutes later he returned and we were not ready to order. When we finally ordered, the food was served in approximately five minutes. While eating someone frequently came to the table to clear the plates. This persisted throughout the meal. The entire dining experience took less than 45 minutes. There are other restaurants, in the area, serving the same type of food. We are saddened by the poor service being provided.More

On a whim the wife and I dropped by the Azerbaijan Grill on the weekend. The place was so popular that it was literally packed. Even without a reservation, we were seated in less than 1/2 hour. The staff is very nice and attentive. Our...bottle of wine was reasonably priced and very good. The hummus appetizer was deliciously seasoned. Our dinners were the sea bass and the mixed Sultana Grill. Both were excellent. The highlight was the dessert of Persian ice cream. Homemade vanilla ice cream with pistachios, rose water and saffron. Incredible and not too sweetMore
