In November there’s not too many tourists about and the restaurant was still packed with locals coming for lunch. Decor and ambience felt very traditional and food was classic French cuisine too. Great.

Lovely Restaurant. Set up inside is really pretty, staff were friendly and attentive. Food was well cooked and appropriately priced. We couldn’t ask for anything else. The town is full of touristy over priced spots but this didn’t feel like those .we will definitely return...when we next pass through the area. The set up inside actually felt a little romantic which was lovely too.More
Really attentive service, without being pretentious. Made for a lovely evening, with delicious food and great wine! Lovely intimate setting.
This is a super place, excellent food and atmosphere. The only disappointment was that it was not open the next evening or we would have returned without hesitation!
My husband, 5 year old daughter and I visited for lunch today. We all really enjoyed our food. We asked for a suggestion on the wine and thoroughly enjoyed the white st emilion wine suggested. The service was really friendly without being too much. Would...definitely recommend either with or without children!More
Chai Pascal offers a delightful dining experience with its fantastic food, charming ambiance, and attentive staff. The fish of the day dish was a highlight, boasting incredible flavours and freshness. The restaurant's extensive wine menu added to the enjoyment of the meal. The warm and...inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a memorable evening. I highly recommend Chai Pascal for anyone seeking a top-notch culinary experience in a lovely setting.More
Limited lunch time menu including daily specials. This is not a criticism - each dish had been carefully put together with ingredients that worked so well together and they were cooked perfectly. Wine choices were excellent (as expected!) Not surprisingly we opted for a St...Emilion Grand Cru and it was stunning. Rich and full bodied yet smooth as silk. Service was efficient, friendly with some humour thrown in for good measure. Highly recommend this place if you are in St Emilion.More
We absolutely fell in love with Chai Pascal during our two days in the area. Alex, in particular, made every minute special and we will always cherish her warmth, recommendations, and kindness. The wine list was very well curated and we had the best risotto...of our lives that night. From braised pork ribs to bass, the meals were splendid. If we ever came back to this area, this is our first stop.More
We had a simple dinner — a very well made salade landaise, with good quality gésiers. Server learned that one diner needed gluten free and prepared special bread, very accommodating. The servers proved warm and friendly, but not at first when greeting you, which may...explain some of the negative comments. The decor is simple but pleasant.More
We had read many of the reviews & were excited for our special dinner. 3/4 way through the entree my companion chewed on a hair - buried deep in the cabacou whip. they quickly removed the dish & replaced with a second (which she didn’t...want). She was waved away & dish was left for her to eat. Not a word of apology or offer to remove 8 e dish from the bill. unfortunately, the remainder of the meal was disappointing- the confit duck skin soft & gelatinous rather than crispy & the fat not rendered sufficiently, the skin was not edible. maybe just an off night but very disappointing.More
We enjoyed ourselves so much the 1st night that we returned for our last night! The dining experience was wonderful with a warm welcome and great service. All of our meals were just fabulous with no complaints about anything. The food was fresh, tasty and...well presented with a wonderful choice of dishes.More
We enjoyed a tasty lunch in this lovely restaurant with a great, relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The seabass with risotto we had for the main course was particularly good. I would definitely eat here again if...I was back in the area.More
Super restaurant with the most delicious fare. The ambience was superb and the food worthy of a Michelin star without the fussiness that often accompanies fine dining .We were a party of six which included red and white wine drinkers. The wine recommendation was excellent...and we enjoyed our evening immensely ..More
We had dinner at Chai Pascal whilst staying in St Emilion and had a great experience. The host was very attentive and knowledgeable, making great food and wine recommendations. We ordered the ‘perfect egg’ and squid to start, followed by duck and lamb for main...course. All of the dishes were beautifully flavoured and presented like a work of art! Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again one day.More
Overcooked tasteless food. Inconsiderate (bordering on rude) service. Really wished we had gone elsewhere. The wine was ok.
