The restaurant is on a rooftop with a nice view over Stone Town. We arrived around six o clock, as recommended for a "sundowner". Amazing view. The food was original and something I never tasted before. The service are excellent. The starter and the desert were especially amazing. The menu is changed everyday, and is seafood.

Wonderful place steeped in history. Wonderful meal at the teahouse on the rooftop. Highly recommended and you need to book. Menu is prepared daily as the chef shops in the markets daily to prepare the elegant tasting menu.

Just splendid. At the rooftop. Splendid food, nice staff. Best meal I have had so far in Africa. Well cooked and spiced, not to much and a well balanced mix, a must.

We were there for dinner in the roof top restaurant. On our wy up the manager showed us some rooms that were impressive. The service in the restaurant was good.

We booked a table through the hotel where we stayed. They request a USD 40 deposit which is then deducted from your bill - fair enough for me, as long as the hotel and restaurant habdled all business (deposit should be in cash). On arrival we were greeted downstairs by the manager and escorted all the way up to the... More

Wow. We went for the 5 course tasting meal served on the roof terrace. Food was sensational, lovely cocktails and great staff. Looking out on the sunset was heaven.

Unfortunately the rooftop section was already fully booked so we had a lovely candlelit dinner in the courtyard instead. The food was tasty and the service fantastic.

We had a very enjoyable evening. Service was excellent, food was exotic and well prepared. There was a good choice of wine and cocktails and the view was excellent. We only stopped for an evening meal but were treated to a view of some of the very beautifully decorated and atmospheric rooms. A must if you're in Stone Town.

Was told by a friend who had been there many years ago to visit this restaurant. Firstly we had to walk through really dirty streets to get there. The restaurant is on the top floor of the the hotel. We had to walk up quite a few flights of stairs. the gentleman showed us empty bedrooms, which frankly seemed a... More

Dear Val, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Being situated in the heart of the old town, one can only access us on foot, through the labyrinthine ancient streets. Our Doormen will always escort our guests back to their hotels afterwards. The Tea House at Emerson Spice is on the rooftop of late 19th Century... More

The house, bedrooms, views, call to prayer and the food create a wonderful experience. The walk to get there was an adventure. Food was great
