a ight food market with nearly every stand selling seafood - basically the same sort - you are constantly beckoned to buy from each of the stands. Everyone is very friendly and are keen to sell you their wares. Seafood was Ok, with the seafood looking a bit dry. We had some seafood, but decided that one of the guys... More

We ate at Forodhani Gardens one evening. The food was fine in as much as it was hot and tasty. Our hotel manager warned us against eating fish as he said it may not be fresh. I did spot a cat making off with a huge squid and did wonder if the squid was just washed and put back! But... More

This is a must! We ate there on our 2 nights in Stonetown. A great variety of local food for tourists and locals alike.

Always ask the price in advance. We didn't and got extremely overcharged. And then the food wasn't even good! half of the chicken was unbeatable. bad experience! It's a tourist trap, don't fall into it!

The Zanzibar pizzas are world famous and the food is safe so go and experience this icon place. Go early or before it gets dark so that you understand what the food stalls are all about.

Every weekend many food stalls offer local cheap but fresh and tasty food. Zanzibar Pizza a must to try. Not Italien Pizza at all, but a special creation where you can chose your ingredients. Very creative "Chefs"

We used to eat here often as students and developed a small obsession with the Zanzibar Pizza. Great atmosphere in the evening as well.

The darkness & food market seems to bring out the worst people stone town has to offer. The sellers we encountered were aggressive & dishonest. They serve bad quality meat & seafood with very unhygienic practises. They overcharge you (tourists only I suspect) if you let them. With so many great restaurants in the area I wouldn't bother going here.... More

Make sure you go to a stall. With a price list as we got charged $10 for two meat samosas with no meat in them haha Try the Zanzibar pizza. Good for if you don't want a big dinner and the sunset is fantastic. We did get hassled but not in an aggressive way. You can watch the kids having... More
