Excellent staff that worked great as a team, picking up each other’s tables and never walking around empty handed— always kept the water glasses full, so they were attentive but not overbearing. I especially liked the little bites we were given before our appetizer and...More

Tonight, we started with the pan-seared scallops. There were three for the appetizer along with a sauce and a mixture of garbanzo beans, pine nuts, and something else. The combination was absolutely delightful. I could have eaten that Sympathy by itself for my entire dinner...More

Treated a party of four employees to a holiday meal. The total came to $350, or about $70/person. This meal, though well prepared and tasty, is not worth the price. First, they skimp on the bread. A basket is not placed on the table. A...More

The best of everything. Mixologist takes his science seriously and enjoys making drinks. The chef and his staff knocked it out of the park. Don't miss this one!

You need to make reservations earlier than a week ahead especially if you have more than two people. I would look at the menu in terms of gluten free, it says exactly what they have.

The Tailor and the Cook is one of the brightest spots in Utica's already rich Culinary nightlife. Attentive service and a comfortable atmosphere support provocative cuisine produced with the finest local products, whenever possible. The management of The Tailor and the Cook is devoted to offering their clientele great food and a path to the farmers and producers who make it happen. The relationship between the food we eat and where it is produced is of growing concern to many. The Tailor and the Cook brings the many bounties of CNY's rich Agriculture to the forefront, giving the public the opportunity to know where there food comes from and how it is produced. Featuring Local Product whenever possible, menus change based on seasonality, freshness, and availability of local goods. A rich and generous selection of Beer, Wine, and Spirits round out the Culinary Package.
