Large open room set in a former church, this is now a gathering spot for the young and those looking to sit with their computers sipping coffee. We had lunch which was tasty, and our server was friendly and accommodating. The menu is somewhat restricted and not for everyone -- sort of eclectic vegan-ish. It was crowded and somewhat noisy,... After opening several years ago in a formerly doomed spot, Murray's quickly became a local institution and *the* midday hangout serving coffee and small plates. Now moved across the street into a converted church they have again transformed a formerly doomed space into a comfortable hangout and great place to meet. Food is simple and well done, popular with students,... More

THe setting is indeed beautiful - situated in an old church building hipster cafe. The coffee was fine but the food was just not good at all. I went there with my wife and a daughter and neither one of us was happy with our meals. I would suggest the place for a cup coffee and the outside patio when... More

Murray's is hands down the best breakfast spot in the Red Hook/Rhinebeck/Tivoli area. The atmosphere is relaxed and quite hip due to an eclectic mix of locals, weekenders and Bard students. The cappuccino is creamy, has an elegant caffeine kick and is served in an almost bowl-sized cup, and the breakfast menu selection of eggs, cereals and sandwiches will satisfy... More

We ate lunch here before a dance matinee at Kaatsbaan. The menu was young minded and the food was fresh and excellent.

We've had the opportunity to visit Murrays on numerous occasions. The owners and staff are always friendly and inviting. A pleasure to be served and not rushed out the door. We had amazing apple pie French toast which was decadent and delicious. Our friends enjoyed different dishes from soup, salad, breakfast nachos and wraps - everything was enjoyed by all.... More

The most outstanding element of Murray's is the staff. Super courteous, friendly, warm and positive vibes. The menu selection is healthy, very Hudson Valley oriented and has something for everyone. Cocktails were good (I don't like sweet drinks so I ordered the Lightning Bug, which was perfect.) My dining partner wasn't fond of the bacon or sausage but loved the... More

Murrays has a limited but interesting menu of apps sandwiches eggs and salads. While the food is freshly prepared and delicious the service is a little quirky and pricing for add one like a slice of bread added $3 to the price. Absurd. But all I all I love the place and the atmosphere and would heartily recommend.

Visited here twice while staying in the Hudson Valley. Cappuccinos were lukewarm (both trips) and the lavender shortbread was heavy--without much lavender. Disappointing. The building is beautiful and seemed to be full of locals and students from Bard College, but the coffee + food---uninspiring! Too bad---there aren't many other coffee shops nearby. Given the idyllic setting (the old church building... More
