We had 6:30pm reservations, yes I do recommend you make reservations as they get very busy. They give each customer individualized attention. The wait staff dressed in their aprons, the dark wood, carpet floors, and white table linen made me think of the restaurants back...in the day in Washington, DC. Service with perfection, I could find no fault. Yes the prices were a little high but we were in NY.More

Food was as always great. The problem was the wait staff. Server did not provide us any level of service. From forgetting about condiments for our supper to one extra requested plate and never once came back to check on How we were doing. We...left very disappointed.More

Haven't visited since pre COVID and we were a little disappointed. We expected a price increase but for that, still expected the previous quality and selection. While the steak was good, they no longer have baked potato as a side. Steamed vegetables are not generally...what steak eaters are looking for. While the vodka chicken riggie's were tasty, the hot cherry peppers had been sliced to include the stems. Also disappointing, they didn't have creme brulee and the tiramisu was rather dry and more chocolate than coffee flavored. Hoping it was an off night and our next visit will be back to what it was. Otherwise, not worth the $110 we paid.More

My son and I were in Syracuse to visit the university and after a 5 hour flight delay we were hungry, tired and not happy. It’s a running joke how much I like chicken parmigiana. So when we checked into our hotel I needed comfort...food and a cold beer. We asked for a good Italian restaurant and Joey’s came up. It was close so we gave it a try. It was by far the best chicken parm I can remember ever having. And what made it even more surprising, we got there just before closing and we were welcomed by our super great host Brittany. We kicked dinner off with the calamari steak. I have to go back to 1995 and my honeymoon in Capri, Italy, to remember being so surprised by an order of calamari. After we finished I saw the chef and I had to thank him for such a great meal. He was totally humble and honest when he said it’s a very simple dish. It is but joey’s does it so right. The portions were generous; the breading was perfect. The chicken was fresh, moist and tender. It was delicious. I’m not one to take photos of my food and I’ve never in my life posted a review. But the experience from Brittany’s warmth to Ithaca’s Flower Power IPA left me no choice. And the price was a bargain compared to the experience my son and I had that night.More

A mid week evening found this favorite restaurant full with happy diners and people enjoying the bar. Tables in our area were separated by curtains which added to the ambiance and sense of security felt dining out in these Covid times. Service was spot on...all night! The pictures of the food will speak for themselves. It was a great experience and we can’t wait to return!More

This is my second visit First off this place is small and popular so you need a reservation which they honor here. Off street parking. The classic restaraunt is downstairs a cafe upstairs. Classic Italian restaurant is elegantly decorated. Lots of wood, antiques and Tiffany...lamps. Wait staff are fabulous. Servers obviously have lots of experience and have probably worked here a long time. It shows because they do a great job effortlessly. Food is impeccable. Both time I was here on business with other people and all of us raved about our meal. The meal is upscale and the prices are too, but you get what you paid for. Enjoy!More

We visited Joey’s for the first time. The place looks unassuming from the exterior. Once inside, we were met with nice decor and a gentleman we assume was the boss, owner or both. He allowed us to dine without reservations. It was also early in...the evening. The property has both upstairs (main level) and downstairs (basement) dining. Downstairs has a full service bar. We ordered their special which was a filet, pasta of your choice and a salad. The price on the board was $29.95. Right before we ordered, the bartender realized the $29.95 price and made the change to $33.95 stating that the earlier price was the lunch price. During the meal, the boss let the bar staff know that the price was supposed to be $36.95 even though per the bartender, the computer showed $33.95. When we received the bill, the price was $36.95 but included a price adjustment. If that was not confusing enough, the shrimp casino was charged at a higher price than stated in the menu. Overall, the place was a nice atmosphere, the staff was friendly and the food was tasty. However, not getting the prices right, discussing that openly with the staff, and the poor handling of online food orders resulted in my rating this place down to a 3.More

The decor of Joey's is delightfully reminiscent of a earlier days' upscale lounge and restaurant. Dark colors, brocade curtains separating tables along the wall, ornate bar. All this makes for a conversation friendly environment. Menu is very extensive with a major representation of well known...Italian foods. Nicely prepared.More

I'm not exactly sure, but I'm guessing it has olive oil with puréed tomatoes. It's so delicious!

Yes, the bar is located downstairs, in Joey's, their more formal part of the restaurant.
