Awesome restaurant. This time I came here because I wanted to do the Staten Island Ferry trip so I could see the Statue. Well, next time I'll do the ferry trip just so I can eat here again. For sure. A cosy place with really friendly people and the food... it felt like a big hug. 😍 Oh! And they... More

It was worth a ferry ride to Staten Island! My girlfriends & I went there on our first of 3 nights in NYC on recommendation from another friend. We bought a subway pass & then enjoyed a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry which gives a wonderful view of the NYC skyline. No need to take a night time... More

It's one of the old style places that truly deserves its excellent reputation. Some great pizza and pasta served up by some hilarious grannies. I will be bringing folks back here for a taste of the local in future

I visited Enoteca Maria with some friends last week. The tiny restaurant was packed, turning folks away at the door, as the grandmothers cooked feverishly. We shared wonderful antipasto, and very good wine, before our delicious entrees. Jody is a warm and engaging host. I didn't get his wife's name but she was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is... More

Enoteca Maria is a novel dining experience .. The experience you get here is exactly what they say they are offering you. A couple of grandmas (nonna) who cook for you on a very personal level ... The staff is friendly and helpful The decor should be more in line with the overall experience your looking for.. The food ,... More

We came during the week looking forward to a special dining experience. The staff was attentive and friendly. The wine list was exceptional. The four of us shared the burrata with grapes tomatoes appetizer really fresh and tasty. They bring homemade foccacio with 3 side toppings for the table. This night the nonna was from Algeria. We had lasagna, chicken rustica,... More

I was looking for a dinner spot before a Staten Island Yankee game nearby. (By the way it's also next-door to the Capitol theater that has a lot of Music act shows.) Got the restaurant story from the waitress... It was very friendly place and has five different grandmas (!?!?!) which is hysterical but they cook a different nationality of... More

We ended up to this place by accident with my boyfriend, and were really happy about that! We had a privilidge to see Nonna (grandma) from Sri Lanka preparing food to five other Nonnas around the world and to restaurant quests, and Fox TV news filming this all! You can choose Italian food from one kitchen or something else from... More

If you ferry the Hudson for a view on The Statue and Ellis Island and you land on Staten Island, don't return directly but stay for a while. Take the bus to travel the Island and come back in the afternoon to enjoy Grandmothers-styled class food at Enoteca Maria's restaurant. Very nice dinner we had before going back to Manhattan.... I enjoyed the quality of the food. A very different Italian menu indeed. It had a quaint atmosphere. I thought the quantity of the meal was small, as the size of the place. Very casual, good service but wouldn't go back. I loved the organic wine!
