Went to this restaurant a little reserved being the previous reviews were not 5 stars. Red,white & blue skirt steak & penne vodka w/chicken were amazing. We got to enjoy some great music while eating and the outside (enclosed) fireplace/pool table area was inviting. Glad we made the trip to this little tucked away hideaway. Winter months bring keep the... More

There pizza is excellent and there diners are also excellent. Prices are fare! Service is very good. Live music during the week sometimes. Recommend for a nice evening out.

I was traveling to the Johnstown, NY area and heard about The Stockyard from the local chamber of commerce. One late afternoon I decided to drive there and check out the menu. Upstate NY has a lot of good restaurants/bars and this would rank among the best casual places I've ever ordered food from. I ordered the food to-go which... More

I had been to the Stockyard a number of times but this last visit was the worst. The food was overcooked and burnt, the water,i n a carafe with a lemon wedge was disgusting. The music was so loud you could not hold a conversation. It was initially much better.

As there are so few choices in the area, I wish that our experience was better. I ordered the london broil which I was looking forward to and felt not only was it over priced but half of it was inedible (all grizzle) and the rue that it was saturated in and tasted sour was a far cry from a... The owner didn't check the demographics in the area before settling here. People work hard for there money out here. We can't afford their eclectic menu and high prices. We want good food, reasonable prices and generous helpings. Menu is very limited, portions small and prices high. Last time we were there, no drink specials, no kids menu. Pizza is... More

Have eaten here at least a dozen times in past 2 years and have had very good meals and very poor offerings. So I average it out to good. This is a real country restaurant with a western theme -- black and white Westerns playing on a TV screen, rough plank wood, saloon type bar, etc. Don't dress up. On... More

A friend lives near this otherwise out-of-the-way restaurant, and we decided to meet here for dinner recently. It was a beautiful evening, and we opted to eat outside on the spacious covered patio. For being one of very few restaurants in this mostly rural area, this place had a surprisingly varied and interesting menu, and a great selection of beer,... More

It's a very nice place. Off the beaten path, but I like it that way. It's a restaurant/pub atmosphere, so there is some noise, but definitely not obnoxious loud bar noise. The food is what we expected, it was very good. We will be going there again.

The ride to find this gem was a bit longer and more rural than we expected, but it was a beautiful trip and well worth the effort. Our experience here was an unexpected pleasure! The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful and fresh. The presentation of the food was right out of a magazine. The atmosphere was... More
