Hard crust on the outside, dense chewy center a bread unlike others that goes great with butter, cheese, salami, ham, hoagies, subs, for soaking up tomato gravy and sauce if you don't know what gravy means...... Stop in get a loaf, you can also freeze in zip lock bags and put in oven frozen and bread recovers like original out... More

Certainly not a regular eating place. Pretty famous locally for good Italian bread and good soup. Not really meant to eat in but rather to go. A couple of other items but the bread is the big draw.

This has always been one of my favorite jaunts when in Schenectady so on a recent trip we stopped in for lunch. The place was very busy, but service was good (as usual). I ordered the pepper and eggs sandwich served on their famous bread. Now I know your thinking "what's so great about an egg and pepper sandwich?"......the bread... More

We called ahead and made reservations for 12 on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a family occasion. Plates of appetizers were shared, and among us we ordered from every category of entree. It was a family bunch- "Here, try this" and "No I'm not sharing!" while talking, laughing and passing the BREAD! Best part? the out of town family members... More

Always prepared fresh as you wait. Good prices too! Fully authentic Italian food. In a cozy section of historic Schenectady.

Water, Flour, Salt and Yeast makes there bread terrific and terribly necessary to eat quickly. No Problem!! I highly recommend they're Italian cookies and homemade pizza slices with just sauce on them.

Get the bread. Eat it ALL today. Yeah, you can wrap it in moist paper towels and steam it back to life tomorrow, but it won't be the same. The FLOUR and the coal ovens are the key = bread that tastes unique with a gum-cleansing crust. Round loaves tend to have big air pockets; I'm frugal, I buy the... More

The bread is fantastic, daily ready made sandwiches are great. This place is an old school Italian deli, nothing fancy here. I have not been to the restaurant next door hope theses soon.
