I came across this place today and I love it! There's nothing about this place that's cookie cutter. The menu is huge and varied and the atmosphere may leave you thinking you've hit a time warp back to the 60's. Good, made to order food in a relaxed setting. I'll be back.

Friends and I decided to try it for a Friday lunch and went a little early to beat the rush. At a few minutes before noon, it was locked up tight. On a Friday. We studied the door and saw a sign saying it was open from 9 AM on. Nope. We searched among the many, many flyers on the door... More

Very nice and friendly vegan cafe in Stockade area. Nice lunch and enjoyed the piano playing during our meal.

This restaurant in the old part of Schenectady, just off Union Street, offers a wide range of dishes from many different countries, in an eclectic decor, We had an excellent lunch, delicious sandwiches and a home made Rhubarb pie

Great vegetarian dishes, well-prepared. The fresh juices are the best. It's an odd little place, kind of like eating in a hostel. But don't be surprised; the food is great and the desserts are all delicious. Our favorite place in Schenectady. If you happen to go on a music night, it's the best. Very comfortable. Inexpensive and good food. And... More

I decided to check this place out after reading the positive reviews on this site, and being close proximity to my relative's house in the Stockade. I was aghast at how misled I was. The decor is a little odd; it looks like a hippie's basement. On a scale of 0 to Vermont on the granola meter, this place is... More

If I lived around here, I would eat here every day. Huge menu, good prices, excellent fresh food. The service was good, and food made to order. My Adirondack salad was a work of art!

A wonderful, relaxing cafe to experience. Sit back and enjoy fine local music, tasty snacks and drinks-no alcohol, and the ambiance of a comfortable intimate spot in downtown Schenectady.

The Moon and River Cafe by itself is an excellent reason to come to Schenectady. It's located in the historic Stockade, 10 minutes from where I live, and I would visit there much more frequently were it not for the sometimes-difficult street parking there. Inside, you are cradled in an artsy, funky, progressive world where the music is mellow, the... More
