Also, my wallet was very happy because the happy hour was so great! The wine was lovely and I had a vegetarian dish. I was vegetarian for years and have been cooking for years but I'm still terrible at seasoning food enough. Their dishes were simple but inspiring. A wonderful reminder that nothing beats fresh.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday night, and were a rather rowdy group of eight. The staff was attentive, the menu had a couple of good twists, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience. A couple of people in our group raved about the brisket Sloppy Joe, but the vegan and vegetarian also had menu options... More

Fun place with a diverse menu for a Saturday night dinner with friends. Had the Malaysian noodle bowl with Chicken which was very satisfying. Friends had the steak which was huge. Very generous portions. There was a murder mystery going in in the back room which was a great deal. Dinner and entertainment for $42.

I frequent NWHC often. Usually 2+ times a month and often on Mondays when the menu is a three course meatless affair for $20. The (free) music offered on Monday evening is Celtic jam and always gets you going in the right direction. This place is friendly, cozy, food savvy and always fun!

Our third visit here for the annual film festival and still love this place! The Sunday supper price fix is a deal and doesn't disappoint! We had the fried brussel sprout chips and eggplant four cheese balls in tomato sauce, which were both absolutely wonderful. That was for starters, along with some New York wine. Then, our dinners included salmon... More

I was looking forward to giving this place a try. With all the hype I have to say I really had expected great things and never thought the only redeeming factor of the evening would be the the nice staff. Decor is nothing and yes it is loud there. The din just resonated off the hard surfaces. We had reservations... More

I am so sorry if I bumped your companion. I am a bit of an oalf sometimes! I am also sorry about your experience. We have been doing this 23 years with passion and I am sure your experience was an anomaly. If you are back in the area FB message me at chefricorlando and I'll buy you a dinner... More

Lately I've found myself at this restaurant a couple of times a month. First and foremost, the food is always well prepared. No matter what I've been served, I've inevitably enjoyed it. Next, I've always appreciated the extensive choice of dishes. Not only do they provide a standard menu, they usually provide an extensive "specials of the day" menu. Lately... More

Visited the area and was recommended this restaurant by a foodie friend. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen that evening but the food.....all of it.... everything we ordered apps entrees and dessert was less than mediocre. Pasta with a garlic and oil was finished with white wine......that was....sour? The whole dish seemed thrown together....blueberry apple crisp......a dish... More

Maybe I'm a skeptic, but when a restaurant has such a vast menu, I don't think they can many all those dishes to perfection. In the case of New World Home Cooking, I may be right. The food was good, not great. The atmosphere was pleasant, service excellent. If I found myself in the area again, I would probably try... More

When you've read the menu three times and still can't narrow down your choice, you know you're in a great restaurant. Unique combinations of flavors, hearty and housemade, lots of attention to local farms and dietary restrictions, plus inventive cocktails and wine. All of that, in a relatively casual atmosphere with super-friendly servers. Great for families with young kids and... More
