Enjoyed fabulous eggplant parmigiana and lasagne dinners. Dined with friends who also enjoyed their meals immensely. It was Veterans Day weekend and the owner/chef was offering 50% off the veterans meal when ordering a second entree. Couldn't be happier with our experience. And kudos to this kind hearted and fabulous chef for giving back to our service men and woman!

I called Panzas and talked about concerns regarding my mother-in-law's difficulty in hearing and need for space to navigate her walker through the restaurant. I also made a reservation for 7 at 7 for a Friday night. As the day of the dinner progressed, I received messages from 2 people who would not be able to be on time because... More

We used to go this family run restaurant with my parents over 25 years ago and the food was still amazing. On a recent visit with friends we realized nothing has changed, other than the fact we all got older! Everything is traditional family recipes that have been handed down, with a few modern "tweaks". Three of the people in... More

This is a nice little restaurant that I visited with my fiancee a few weeks ago. The service was good and the staff were all very kind. We had wine and pizza and the pizza was very tasty; it was cooked well and very flavorful. Our Chianti was excellent and the portions were very generous. It's a nice, quiet restaurant... More

Went to Panzas last Saturday for dinner. Had not been there for awhile. Said to my husband that I forgot how much I like the place. Had Calamari as appetizer and it was cooked properly. Absolutely delicious. My husband had Seafood Cioppino and enjoyed it. I had the Shrimp Sorrentino and it was great. Nice atmosphere, music and good service.

For many years I have gone with a friend from the area to Manginos (where the food is consistently excellent)down the road from Panza. As her mother had recently died we did not want to bring up memories so we tried Panza. The staff and service was excellent as was the bread but everything after that was really bad. The... More

After a long drive we needed a quiet place for dinner and this turned out to be an excellent choice. It was Saratoga Restaurant Week so I took advantage of the 4 course meal for $30. The daily soup was simply wonderful- a creamy tomato blue cheese bisque. That was followed by a light and crisp cesaer salad. The chicken... More

We went on a Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm on a holiday no less. We started off with the mussel appetizer-Excellent and with the bread served warm, we soaked up all that delicious sauce. My husband had the Eggplant Parm and I ordered the Veal Marsala. Both meals were very good- -just the right portions and oh so yummy. Very... More

This was my first experience at Panza's. Being around so long and having a great reputation I was looking forward to my meal We arrived and there was a wedding or party in their banquet room - hardly enough parking but we did find a space way in the back. The party was loud and thankful you couldnt hear in... More

Description
In a city steeped in tradition, from its historic healing spas to the horses, there is only one family owned restaurant that has endured for over 75 incredible, edible years - Panza's Restaurant.

Panza's bakery opened its doors in Mechanicville in 1897. That was the first time Upstate New York experienced the delicious Neapolitan style brick oven baked pizza and other secret family recipes our relatives brought with them from the old country. Ma Panza and her husband Joseph were unable to speak English when they first arrived from Napoli, so they allowed their cooking to do the talking for them, and did it ever. Everyone in the neighborhood was talking about this new baking sensation called, "pizza." Ma Panza's authentic brand of home style Italian cooking became a staple in the Capital Region, and has continued in their tradition spanning more than five generations and still using the same brick oven Ma Panza cooked in.

Today, we still offer the same authentic Italian fare Ma Panza made back in the late 1800s, serving guests in our restaurant and providing extensive catering services for banquets, weddings and events.
