Visited for an anniversary treat. We were quickly seated early in the evening. Service was attentive and they had many tables to look after. Appetizer (burrata and tomato), salads, fresh bread, salmon and chicken entrees. Lots of fun desserts and extensive special drink menu. Always...a good meal with a beautiful view.More

Amazing food in a beautiful location with local resources! Must go here! There is plenty of outdoor seating with good spacing for those with social distancing issues.

We were staying in Downsville and the local dinner choices there didn't appeal to us so we drove down to the Riverside Cafe (25-30 min?) based solely on the almost straight 5 Star reviews. And the reviews were right! Beautiful spot with lots of scenic...seats by the window overlooking the brook. We got one even though we didn't have reservations. (But it was Sunday nite. I assume reservations would be a good idea on Friday or Saturday.) My wife had a generous portion of wine for only seven bucks. My stout cost the same and was outstanding. The warm bread with unlimited butter was out of this world The big bowl of salad that was included with dinner was outstanding.....fresh greens, various types of olives, tomatoes, onions, four (4!) generous bowls of dressing so we could help ourselves. Outstanding. Our entree's were wonderful.....half racks of lamb and pork tenderloin and we barely finished them even though they were "half portions". The server was delightful. All in all this place is a keeper. We'll be back.More

My favorite restaurant when I visit the Pepacton Cabins, for many years it is the inevitable visit to this restaurant, very good food, very friendly staff, and the atmosphere with the companion river make you an ideal place in this part of New York.

We were staying nearby and was told to eat here. Thankfully, we listened and was treated to an excellent meal. You must try the stuffed fresh caught trout. The duck breast was also very good. Meals come with a salad . The atmosphere only enhances...the food as you can look out onto the stream through the restaurants full length windows. The wait staff is also very friendly and accommodating.More

I have patronized this place for many years albeit sporadically while fishing the local rivers. What it is: a chef owned and operated restaurant in the banks of the Beaverkill that serves excellent food in a very pleasant atmosphere. It is not in Roscoe proper...but in Horton, exit 92 on Hwy 17. The owner (Tammy) was trained at the Culinary Institute of America and, as far as I am concerned, could work anywhere she would want to. She opened this restaurant 21 years ago and it continues to operate in an area where turnover is the rule. The menu is simple and appealing and there are daily specials. My fishing buddy and I were accommodated even though it was 9:30 - the kitchen is open until 10 PM like most big city restaurants. Service was friendly and not rushed. The server took her time describing the specials and some other items on the menu. Bread reaches the table hot and fluffy, it is made in house. The salad comes with the entree and it is fresh, plentiful and delicious. I had the crab stuffed trout (a special) with rice and vegetables. It was perfectly cooked and the flavors blend quite well. My friend had the chicken with penne pasta which was also delicious. A short wine list by the glass is quite adequate and the servings are generous. I rarely give five stars to a restaurant but, taken in context, this one deserves it as it is far above any other place I know in the immediate area. Incidentally, the hamburgers are excellent, too.More

Riding along rte 17 in New York State you’ll be lucky to happen upon this gem. Food is excellent and freshly prepared. You sit and watch the beaverkill flow by outside. Maybe do a little fishing before you eat.

Very nice atmosphere and right on the river. Food is great and it can get busy at times. Filet and lobster tail is awesome! Love their lofe of bread but wish they didn't put raisins in it. Wish the male owner was a little more...friendly.More
