We went there the first day they opened this season and the food was very good. The ribs and chowder were great. Good burgers. Good staff.

I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Make sure to try the ribs, and if the weather is warm eat outside under the trees. It is a pleasant experience. This place started out small but has grown over the years to...More

We saw Tail O' the Pup as we drove into Lake Placid and knew we had to visit on our way home. Boy, were we glad we made that choice. We did not expect to find authentic southern-style BBQ in the area! The food was...More

Tail of the Pup is situated halfway between Lake Placid and Saranac lake. Its a good place to get away from the hustle of Lake Placid and have a quiet meal.

Drove around. Lake Placid...very crowded, no parking, etc. Drove a few miles west and found this place. Inside and outside seating. A little cool so it was inside. Comfortable booths, great sound track, good bbq. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best ever....More

Outdoor lunch on a beautiful day! We all had claim chowder which was delicious, lots of clams. Also had riblets- great taste and just right amount with the cup of soup. Servers were good. Rustic atmosphere.

Service was nice and friendly. My wife's lobster-bake was outstanding, my ribs where dry and tasteless. If you praise yourself to be all about BBQ, you should really offer more than ONE barbecue sauce and have some kind of a bbq-beans recipient so they don't...More

Stopping here is always a Lake Placid must for the family. I wish it wasn't. The restaurant has managed to create a presence and is a big draw in the area but I am always disappointed with both the food and service. Overpriced for what...More

A Texas pint of local beer was $10... Server was good, Corn was awful. Go for unpretentious food at high price. Too Expensive, out door seating.

How it manages to stay in business and why the Dept. of Health hasn't classified it "Ground Zero" yet?

This is not a question. It is a rant and gives no facts. I get it! You don't like the place...don't go back. Complain to the health officials or write it in your review. Either way, this is not a valid venue for this... More
