We recommend this place for foodies. We had the duck, which was incredible and the softshell crab which was also very good. Lobster mac and cheese was good, but small and had very little lobster. We had one amazing wine and then were were recommend one that was way off our taste palate. Waiter was very personable though.

Last night my husband and I had a dinner date at a local restaurant that we had not tried before. After visiting their website, we saw that they opened at 4pm and decided to have an early dinner due to some later commitments. Once we arrived at the restaurant there was a private events party going on and we were... More

I have been here multiple times. The food is often quite good. Very fresh. The chef has a tendency to busy up the flavors, though, meaning that there may be a sharp contrast of flavors on your plate. This may be good if you are having trouble deciding, but unwelcome if you prefer flavors that compliment the entrée. The staff... More

I grew up in Poughkeepsie, and when I come back, which is rare since I live in Newport Beach CA, I always make sure to come here. The food is amazing, and the menu always serves up something new and interesting. It is reasonably priced for how good the food is, food this good would be MUCH more expensive in... More

Last night chef Megan Fells delivered a fabulous dinner and very successful party in honor of my husband and our best friends birthdays. I hosted 22 guests in their event space Canvas next door. The room could have easily hosted two to maybe even three times the number of guests however the space worked wonderfully for our number as well.... More

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, great wine, and super friendly service. We went here originally because it was close to The Chance, music venue, and we could have stayed much longer!

Walking into The Artist's Palate, I was surprised by its striking resemblance to a posh Upper East Side eatery. The high ceilings, revamped traditional red brick interior, and the thin mirrors illuminated by fluorescent lights spanning the walls almost made me forget that I was in the small Hudson valley town of Poughkeepsie, but as we were greeted warmly by... We have been dining at Artist's Palate since it opened. While the menu is continually modified, the dishes remain fresh, inventive and delicious. This is a perfect spot for a business lunch or just a place to catch up with old friends. Service is always prompt and friendly.

From the initial greeting to the wave good-bye, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were in town for a wedding, staying the the Grand Hotel, and looking for something within walking distance. Less than two blocks away doesn't get any more convenient. The service was excellent. We both had fish, and found it presented well, and cooked to perfection. We... More

A 70 seat American-Fusion Restaurant, the only one in the area using truly local ingredients and changes thier menu every two weeks based on the availability of products. Both the beer menu and wine list are extensive and reasonable. As well one of the only restaurants that say if we don't have we will do our best to get it for your reservation.
