This is the slow time up here in the Adirondacks and not many restaurants are open so it is not unusual to see the ones that are full, but this was packed continually but my friends and I were able to converse and have a great time - it was not noisy! Jane, the owner is just wonderful and makes... More

Started with Turkey soup, ( delicious), then had salmon, (cooked til just flaky- not dry or over done), with a small side salad. Fresh tasting veggies. Service was great as well. Definitely going back!

This onion soup was made with Guiness stout and loaded with sharp cheese, very little bread. Combined with a great house salad, it suited our palates and appetites to a "T"

Yes, the meatloaf was really good, but I guess it's hard to mess that up. It was the flourless chocolate cake that is worth reviewing. That, alone, is worth going for. Nice atmosphere, but the waitress was a little less attentive than she could have been. She seemed distracted, but not to the point where it caused any problems or... More

Nice decor - loved the environment. Thought the one room was noisy - they could use some sound dampeners - not sure if they are aware. But were all about the food - so let me tell you the items we tried: Good - nachos, duck wings Bad - syrup salmon, meatloaf OK - new england clam chowder

My friends and I went here after a day of skiing. We were all in agreement that the food was just ok. My pasta had waaay too much butter (never thought I'd say that). The one shinning star was the duck wings. They were amazing and I wish I had gotten them for my main meal. The staff were very... More

We needed to change our reservation time and the manager was accommodating, despite being crowded. When we arrived we were seated and served promptly. The ambiance is great for a ski vacation. Comfortable and family friendly. Great menu. The Soup Du Jour and chili were top notch, as were the burgers, and desserts. My husband found his pasta bland, but... More

We stopped at basil and wicks during our last trip to Gore Mountain. The duck wings are amazing! The rest of the food is good as well, and the beer selection is quite good. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time.

Excellent food without being pretentious. Friendly bar and helpful staff. I've skied many places in the northeast, and this is the "great ski bar and restaurant' one would expect.

Our family of 5 went for dinner during post Christmas week. I had poked my head in earlier in the evening and assumed we didn't need a reservation, but found it rather busy when we arrived. We were told there would be a good 40 minute wait, so we decided to sit at the bar (where we had rather mediocre... More
