Trip advisor : Zaika Restaurant, Buffalo, NY
During our recent trip to Niagara Fall$$$ from NYC, me and my wife found out about ‘Zaika restaurant’ through Trip Advisor based on positive reviews.
As we were craving for tasty Indian foods that were filling and also easy on the wallet, we decided to give Zaika restaurant a try after reading all the positive feedbacks.
We were pleasantly surprised by the superb food quality and the generous portions this restaurant had to offer at an affordable price.
Just to mention ...
We ordered lamb biryani, tandoori chicken, awesome medium spicy lamb saag, garlic naan, masala chai ( which needs improvement) etc.
Honestly,
the portions were very reasonable and the quality of foods were simply delicious and at a price we simply, couldn’t say no.
To us, the stars of the show (besides the chef ) were the knowledgeable and super friendly staffs who were eager to make our visit a memorable one indeed.
The entire dining experience wouldn’t be the same without them.
FYI, I’d also like to suggest ‘Take outs’ from this gem ( if you can),
just to avoid unnecessary frustrations as majority of the Niagara Falls establishments are unpleasantly expen$$$ive.
Cheers !

The restaurant is updated and clean. Plenty of seating and even a small bar area for adults and quick lunches. The prices are very reasonable and during peak lunch time we were able to be seated, get an appetizer and meal in 30 minutes. The menu has great options for those not very familiar with Indian cuisine but are looking to try something more mild, all the way to classic traditional dishes and even Jain. We ordered a la carte and the portions were generous and served in beautiful metal bowls that kept the food very warm. All of the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. I would not hesitate to come back!

Stopped here after a day of walking the area and I am so glad we did. I was a bit surprised that a buffet was open, but everyone used hand sanitizer before grabbing a plate for the buffet.
Good selection of food including chicken curry and chicken tiki masala. Dessert included. $17 for an adult and if you waste an ‘excessive’ amount, there is an additional charge.

Samosas were stale and you could smell the filling had gone bad, daal was overly salty, matar paneer had no paneer, rajma was overly garlicky. Water wasn't refilled, plates weren't taken back promptly, empty items in the buffet weren't refilled, table didn't have napkins, "fresh" plates were dirty from previous use. Waiters didn't acknowledge simple requests.
No way is the buffet worth $20 (including tax). Save your money and go somewhere else.

Food was good, restaurant was strictly following COVID-19 safety measures. We were asked to change gloves with every serving of food we wanted from the buffet which was a bit hectic and irritating.
The experience wasn't enjoyable.

This was one of the few restaurants that was open on Christmas Eve. They were serving only buffet that night, which was what we were looking...and what fabulous food. They had selections that we had never tried before, and the flavors were mouthwatering. The service was friendly and accommodating as well. If I lived nearby, I would be going there often.

Zaika is a family friendly lunch buffet restaurant with super fresh food, attentive waitstaff, and conveniently located in the tourist area of Niagara Falls.
Food is spiced from moderate to hot and labeled for newbies. Fresh naan is served.
Well stocked bar and good selection of spirits. A must stop when visiting Niagara Falls

Went to Zaika after reading the reviews. Food was OK, some dishes were pretty good. We would have preferred entrees be cooked when ordered as oppose to a buffet. Makes us wonder the freshness of the entrees in a buffet setting. The naan was quite good and made fresh.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere for a buffet and the service was attentive but the quality of the food was just so so and the recipes were not what I have come to expect from a quality Indian restaurant. The chicken Tikka Masala was not what I would consider an authentic recipe; the chicken was not marinated very well, the sauce was not authentic and it had onions and peppers in it which is not supposed to be. Also, the quality of the chicken used was barely passable. The Tandoori Chicken was cold and not spiced the way I am accustomed to. The highlight was the vegetable biryani, which was just OK; not bad, but not spectacular, either. The selection was not very good

We returned here for lunch since it's been a few years. We had such a marvelous time back then that we wanted to repeat it. There have been some changes since then. They no longer have a menu from which to order. It is now exclusively an all you can eat buffet. A server brings you water and naan bread to your table. To their credit, they have a good supply of servers to attend to your needs. Ours was very pleasant and energetic. Once we were seated, I had to ask that our table be cleaned. It had food on it from the previous diners. Our server cleaned it off cheerfully. Not being from Indian descent, we weren't very knowledgable about the cuisine. The items on the buffet are labeled and some had a description. You serve yourself onto a plate or red cafeteria tray. They do have a charge for excessive food waste, which you are told about when you first enter the restaurant. So try a little of each food before you commit to a larger portion on your return trip to the buffet. The foods we tried were good. The majority of the other diners were Indian so they must find the foods authentic and delicious. By the time I finished the foods I chose, I didn't have room for a return trip to the food line. I will say that the chicken lababdar, which I never had before, was spectacular. I had to Google it when I got home to see what was in it. That alone with some rice would have been enough to make me happy. It was all white meat chicken in a delicious tomato, butter cream sauce. Superb. I asked that the cook be complimented. The bathroom needs some serious cleaning. There are no paper towel dispensers and you're expected to use the hand dryer. In this day and age of Covid and most other micoroorganisms, paper towels would help prevent the spread of disease. I used hand sanitizer the moment I got back into my car. So overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but no longer worth the trip to Niagara Falls for Indian food.

I came here with my boyfriend and some friends from work as we are a fan of buffets. From the moment you walk in the door, the fragrance of delicious spices welcomes you. I loved that the buffet is labeled with a brief description of each item making it easy to determine if it is safe for those with food sensitivities. The staff is friendly and attentive; our large group was well taken care of and fresh food comes out regularly. The buffet gives you the opportunity to explore wonderful new dishes if you are newer to Indian cuisine. Make sure you try the samosas, garlic naan, the daal makhni with basmati rice, and both the tandoori chicken and tandoori wings, you will not be disappointed. Finish it off with the gulab jamun for dessert; they are absolutely decadent. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

The food is authentic Indian cuisine and excellent. Many Indian there. That's why an automatic charge of 10% of tip for server is added. But before paying you are asked again for tip and we tipped 18%. But this is a crooked way to charge the customer. With the extra 18% which was calculated by the machine, we ended up paying 31% of tip. Dishonest and despicable procedure and in transparent! Here are the details: Food 39.98 + sales tax 3.20 + 10% automatic tip 4.00 =sub-total 47.18 + 18% tip on subtotal 8.49 = total tip 12.49 (31.25%) and Total bill = 55.67. So be aware that they don't cheat you.

Hi Andre,
We believe there has been a misunderstanding with the Tips. We charge all guests 10% but sometimes when guests are closing the transaction on the payment device they end up adding another TIP on top.
Please call Maninder at 1 (607) 377-7136.
He will definitely be able to remove your TIP.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The food is fantastic, don’t miss this one! Kids loved the butter chicken, rice and garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and vegetable korma were all delicious. Medium spice level was very manageable. Go higher if you like it hot!

We were told this was a great place and we got there early.
When they opened, many people started coming in and their buffet offered many dishes and I tried a little of almost all of them.
The one thing that seemed odd was the lamb as it didn't taste like lamb or any type of meat I might have been familiar with.
Service was also excellent and the place was almost packed in less than an hour

Spacious restaurant with typical Indian buffet choices. Price is somewhat higher than others around. Unlike most Indian buffets, a lot of the items bring a bit of heat with them. Maybe the red pepper on the outdoor restaurant sign was a hint.
