About
Located on the top of a hill overlooking Mount Kisco, La Camelia Restaurant offers a European country farmhouse where guests enjoy authentic Spanish and Portuguese dishes, a large menu of tapas, and an abundant selection of wines & ports. Patrons can either choose to come and enjoy the casual "tapas tap room" or choose a quiet, fine dining experience, where traditional Iberian dishes are served. The ingredients are always fresh, and grown on the premises when the season permits.

Dined here twice this past month, both experiences were impressive and memorable. These are trying times for restaurants and La Camelia is serving well-prepared, exceptional dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. You can dine outside on their patio, inside in their dining room or sit in the bar area (contemporary setting, high tables) Food is delicious and presented well. Service attentive. Tried many of the menu items, tapas as appetizers, followed by entrees. All seafood is fresh and fabulous, pork items and beef items that we tried were enjoyed as well. We will return again, there are more offerings on the menu that we must try! La Camelia is a hidden gem as others have stated, I highly recommend a visit.

Our two favorite local restaurants remain La Camelia and Mardino’s (separate review). La Camelia food remains at a very high level, carefully prepared and presented. The authentic Spanish meals and small plates are tops! During the month of June table service was unavailable so we picked up our order and brought it home. The food was hot and delicious. We continue to be fans and look forward to table service reopening soon.

We tried a few tapas and all were good (little neck clams, shrimp turnovers, tiger prawns, chorizo and baked clams). The waitress said the chorizo is made in house but we found it to be very tough. The flavor was good but wished it was more tender. The red sangria was great. They have outdoor seating which is adjacent to their garden. Our waitress was very nice and the service was great. Overall it was a very good experience and we would come back.

I am sorry I drove 20 miles to get what I consider the worst paella ever. The taste was awful. I was dying to eat paella española and I ended up with a mix that tasted snd looked more like risotto. The soups like caldo verde was good and so were the croquetas , but the paella was the worst. Really disappointed!

While the food is good, the service is atrocious. We were ignored once seated. We had to get our own water. I had to hunt down a server. It took hours (the meal dogged on for 3 1/2 hours!!) to get our food and then we were brought the wrong food for each dish. We were talked into a dessert and promised if we didn’t like it there would be no charge. We didn’t like it and we were charged anyway. When we complained about all the mishaps the server was rude and gave us attitude adding insult to injury. Too bad because we have gone here in the past because the food is good (not great). There are plenty of other restaurants. We will not be back

Tucked up on a hill behind the Burger King on North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco is a dining experience that is absolutely not be missed. My wife and I went to La Camelia for an early Valentine's Day dinner, and....wow.....just wow. We arrived at about 5:30 PM, and were greeted at the door by Serafina, one of the owners, an absolutely charming lady who made us feel welcome from the first moments. We were shown to a table near the fireplace, where Serafina happily answered our questions about the menu. She had given her staff the evening off, as it was Super Bowl Sunday, so she was doing the serving as well as the hosting. It being Super Bowl Sunday, there were not a lot of people out for dinner, so Serafina was able to spend a good amount of time with the customers who were there, and she did just that, engaging in pleasant conversation. La Camelia is basically a tapas place, but they do have a few meat and fish entrees on the menu. My wife ordered a small plate (I forget which one), and then an octopus entree, and later remarked that if she had know how large the entree would be, she probably would have skipped the tapas. I had a caesar salad followed by quite possibly the best steak I have ever had. It was a huge Black Angus sirloin, served on a sizzling cooking stone. The steak comes only partially cooked, and you get to slice it up and finish cooking it, just how you like it, on the stone. The steak was top quality beef, nice and lean, but very tender nonetheless. It came with roasted potatoes and a vegetable medley. Everything was mouth watering. My wife said the same for her dish. For dessert we shared an incredible pistachio cake. We left stuffed and very satisfied, but it wasn't just the food. Serafina, and her husband Victor, who came out from the kitchen to chat later, are great hosts, and really made the experience complete. When you make a reservation at La Camelia (they are on Open Table), I suggest that in the special request section you ask to have Serafina serve you. And bring a couple of good jokes with you.....she loves to laugh.

I was disappointed with my order of Jamon Serrano tapa because it was not Jamon Serrano but Prosciutto instead. I asked the owner if it was serrano or prosciutto and he assured me that it was Spanish, then told me that they were basically the same. I mentioned that the color is different and also the moisture content. I was too polite to continue. I should've sent it back and left. Outside of that, the place is beautiful and the bartender is the star. He is a great entertainer. Drinks could've been stronger. It's well worth the visit, just make sure you get the Spanish 'prosciutto.'

Lovely, cozy old house atmosphere. Relaxed and unrushed. The food is excellent, flavorful and beautiful. Victor is entertaining and warm. We had a bean and chorizo appetizer, octopus and scallop entrees. All were delicious and no delicately seasoned. Dessert was excellent as well- apple tart and blueberry custard tart. Coffee was fresh, rich and flavorful. Highly recommend.

From the first bite we knew everything was FRESH. The food was excellent! My husband and I were treated like family. Saraphina and her staff were so friendly and accommodating that we can't wait to go back with our friends and family. Definitely a hidden treasure in Westchester!

This is a hidden gem. Food was fantastic. Had the signature paella and several tapas which were all delicious. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Sangria was great too, not overly sweet. we dined inside but the outdoor patio was lovely.

Been here many times before today. I don’t give many 5’s. The food was very good we had appetizers; chourico assado (smoked not my favorite) & tortilla espanola, dinner; branzino and steak on hot stone. The steak was very tender and cut like butter. The branzino was cooked perfectly. The vegetables that came with dinners were perfectly cooked and delicious. With a bottle of wine, Now onto dessert I don’t recall the name but 2 delicious fluffy pastry torte eat with your hands. Cappuccino & espresso. When I got the check I presented my credit card and asked for another espresso. I was asked if I wanted sambuca with my espresso but not told I would be charged for it. After being asked to provide a truthful review by Serafina and being a businessman myself I would not have charged for the second espresso, especially wanting a repeat customer. All in all I will return….
