We had a delicious dinner outside on the deck of the Arnold House Tavern. The margarita and Negroni were both skillfully made. We shared and thoroughly enjoyed an appetizer of smoked trout with toasts. Our main courses were ahi tuna with lemongrass noodles and roasted local trout with charred corn and wild rice. A glass of Sancerre went perfectly with the latter. The service was leisurely and friendly without being overbearing. The wait staff all wore masks, and the tables were far enough apart for proper social distancing.

When you find a truly local business that is clean and welcoming, memorable and has their act together, it’s a prized possession. This Tavern has that. The food was exceptional: Smoked trout and Schnitzel on the same menu! Attentive staff - to a family with babies- was so appreciative. Local brew. And great Catskill decor included lake maps, produce signs and paneling. What a memorable, prized evening in the mountains.

One of very few restaurants in the area that is open until 9 pm on a weeknight. We arrived at 8:30 and were greeted by Jiron, one of the most positive and enthusiatic young men on the planet. He assured us that the kitchen would accommodate us, and showed us down the spiral stairs to the pub. That's where we met our server Justin who continued the splendid hospitality. The menu was much more than standard pub fare. We began with the Carolina Salad and Farmhouse Salad, both arriving with super fresh veggies and just the right amount of dressings. My daughter chose the Arnold Burger, learning later that they grind their beef daily. That's fresh. She called it the best hamburger ever. Thick and juicy, with tasty toppings. I selected the ribs, which turned out to be almost a half rack pile, with the meat falling off the bones without help, accompanied by grilled cornbread and baked beans. Once the other six occupied tables cleared out, we had the entire place and staff to ourselves and engaged them in terrific conversations. After dessert - a cheesecake that melts in your mouth - Chef Clark came out to chat about his kitchen and seek our opinion on the meals. We told him that this was, by far, the best dining experience during our vacation in the Catskills.

We stayed 15 min away at Kenoza Hall (sister property) but wanted to try something different for Brunch. The food was SO GOOD here - fun, casual menu and very reasonably priced. Adorable indoor dining option with a fireplace but go for the outdoor greenhouse! Order your food to-go and take it across the parking lot to eat in the barn or heated greenhouse. In addition to it being warm, cozy and gorgeous with the flowers, this space is dog-friendly! Got some great pics of the space but the food was so good (esp the fries!) it was gone before we knew it!

We visited The Arnold House twice in the past year, the second time most recently to attend a wedding. It's a lovely inn with an attentive and friendly staff. The greenhouse and attached building was a lovely venue for the wedding ceremony and dinner reception. The main building of the inn was a great gathering spot for the welcome dinner, post ceremony cocktail hour and post wedding Sunday morning bunch. There is a very inviting fire pit outside next to the greenhouse where you can relax and feast on s'mores. There is also a restaurant/tavern located in the lower level of the main inn with a nice and varied menu and bar. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. There's lots of explore nearby.

Comfort food / pub fare with an outstanding and attentive staff. Recommend the tater tots nachos and the trout dip (who knew!). Dog friendly to boot and they have foosball too. While many places in the area are closed on Monday-Wednesday, they were a very welcome find.

Visited on a Tuesday evening after Christmas, and had a lengthy wait for a table. But once we were finally served, the food was good. Trout dip was delicious! Hamburgers and ribeye steak were very good. Fish & chips had too much breading.

I called to make a Brunch reservation for 4 for my Bday… left my cell # for a call back 2 times!. This is where it all began- #1 They called my job 2 times-(NOT THE CELL # I GAVE) first to say we could maybe have a table & later to say sorry there was too much happening that day & this was not possible… “But hey - happy birthdayyy…” #2 Fast forward to Saturday we ended up going ANYWAY with 7 people instead! ~ OTHER than us there were ONLY 6 more people there in 1 table & NO ONE ELSE! The place was EMPTY. #3 -All I wanted was a nice Late - Nope… Only Coffee & it was horrible. They don’t own an espresso machine. IT’S A BRUNCH PLACE! #4 My meal was sad. Steak & over easy eggs- Eggs were hard & steak was ehh. #5 Ordered a Bloody Mary ~ The drink was previously mixed… it wasn’t good at all. We stuck with Prosecco… The place has potential… 😕 The Instagram photos did a good job portraying something it’s not. The upstairs was cute… & the outside wood fire pits were nice. • I’m thinking we picked the wrong meal to go to… OBVIOUSLY BRUNCH IS NOT THEIR FORTE. It bothered me that we drove so far to an overpriced location & spent money on my special day when there are so many other places we could have gone to. I should have listened to the man who left me the message telling me NOT TO GO… I would have had a Happy Birthday as he wished ••••••

I cannot comment on the accommodations as we did not stay here, but at another sister property run by the same people--Foster + Supply--but we did host a 50th birthday dinner here last night and had a wonderful time. Our dinner for 19 people was held in the Shandelee Dining Room and was set up for just our group with tables, comfy chairs, a bar, and shuffeboard and we had a BBQ buffet. I am always kind of leery of buffet meals, but this one was really fantastic--apps, dips, kale and couscous salads, ribs, herb-grilled chicken, and trout and pies and cookies for desset. The drinks were plentiful, the staff helpful, and a good time was had by all. A special shout-out to the captain for the evening, Emily, who was so easy to work with. The night was a lot of fun and everything we had hoped for!

The Arnold Lodge is a restaurant with a traditional country style and fireplace. It has plenty of parking, a pool table and bar area as well. We went there twice and found the food to be excellent. If you are going to have more than one course eat very lightly during the day. We had a variety of items off the menu including fish and chips (light batter), chicken and pork (6 out of 5). The pork was excellent value and very succelent. The service is excellent, prompt, friendly and informed. As well as a good selection of wines the restaurant had a variety of cocktails on offer (many gin based). If you get there on a Thursday they also have a quiz night!

Love this place. We didn;t have dinner, just a drink. We would have stayed for dinner if it was not overbooked. The dishes looked delicious.

Meet family here for lunch on a recent trip. We were familiar with Arnold House as a hotel but had never eaten here. We ate in the basement area dining room. It had a real old-fashioned ratskeller feel with wood paneling and a wood-burning stove. And even a jukebox and pool table. I think the pool was free. They offer bar seating or table seating. We sat at a table to expidite conversation but another couple was at the bar and a family was at another table. We started with the trout spread which I highly recommend. It was served cold and with bread and pickled onions; so good. They offer soft drinks and beer. We had draft beers. They have hyperlocal and regional choices. They seemed to have a full bar also. On Sunday they had a brunch menu with breakfast and lunch items. Some of us had waffles and an omelets; others had lunch; fish dinner and salad. All items were large portions and good. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We had a good time eating and visiting. The grounds are also nice and you can walk around if you like. Definitely worth the visit. Call first to make sure they are open.
