Wow! Great barbecue in the Catskills!! Delicious chicken and pork sandwiches. We added 2 sides-collard greens and corn bread. Excellent. Dine outside so get there before it freezes. Will definitely be back.

The brisket was well cooked -- meat was soft and flavorful. Portion size for a sandwich was lacking -- 3 pieces of "pulled BBQ" was just 3 chunks. Side dish of BBQ fries tasted good, but for the price, again, small size. Asking if we...want to add a tip before we are even served anything is tacky - and what did you do - bring the food to us, not wipe down any tables, not clean up, no conversation, etc. That 15% we added wasn't worth it. Seating is just outside-- it gets cold.More
I think I have tried everything they have and I like it all! The chicken sandwich is incredible, the BBQ is delicious, but the hotdogs.... are the best I have ever had!!!
Good spot for lunch if you're in the mood for barbecue. The food is good and there is a varied menu of main dishes and sides to please a variety of palates and moods. Sat outside on a hot summer day and it was shaded...and pleasant.More
Let me start by giving some cautions in this very favorable review. This is an outdoor restaurant. If the weather isn't right for outside dining, this isn't the right place to go. That said, it was a first time, but not last time, visit. The...restaurant has an indoor kitchen where orders are placed. The seating is outside at picnic tables, some of which have a covering overhead. Food is brought to the tables after orders are placed. We learned of the restaurant from a billboard on Route 17. It turned out to be a great choice. The food was delicious. We had both the brisket, which was good, and the pulled pork, which was excellent. Dishes brought to other tables looked equally great. I look forward to sampling some other offerings in a future visit. If I had one suggestion for improvement, I'd suggest an upgrade of the rolls that the sandwiches come on. The rolls are standard hamburger buns. Nothing wrong with that, but an upgrade to a brioche roll or kaiser roll would make the sandwiches even better. The homemade limeade is worth trying. Service was pleasant and the prices were what you would expect for barbecue foods, moderate. Taking a quick drive through the little downtown of Livingston Manor was also enjoyable. One other thing to mention is that there was a live band performing while we dined. I didn't catch the name of the group, but might call them The Woodstock Leftovers based on their appearance and the proximity to Bethel Woods. The music was good and added to the overall experience. Other performers play there according to the woman at the register. This is a recommended place for travelers along NY Route 17 during good weather.More
We ordered chicken halves that were $12 each, the size of Cornish game hens, dry towards the outside and bloody at the bone, with terrible fake smoke taste. I don’t want to even discuss the overpriced wings. Do not go here.
I stopped by the Smoke Joint with a friend for a late lunch just before they closed and thank goodness we got there in time! Their food is very good and I'd go back again if ever in the area. Really delicious: the chopped pork,...collared greens, beans, coleslaw. Amazing: the homemade brownie! just okay: the mac and cheese (felt like it needed more seasoning or a little more mmphh to it)More
I never had a chance to eat in their Brooklyn location, so on a trip to Livingston Manor we finally had a chance. The brisket was moist and tasty. The portion of ribs (half rack) had loads of meat. They were smoky, and had great...flavor. Check the hours and days of operation. We did take out, but they have socially distant outdoor seating. They also had a firepit to warm you up.More
Visiting Roscoe for a quick family weekend and some fly fishing. Great find. Food great. Outdoor dining that felt and was safe. I'm a doctor- I hope I can Iell. Great and carefull staff and most friendly owner with whom I spoke about life, covid...and restaurants (he has other BBQ restaurants downstate). Worth the trip!More
The BBQ ribs and the cornbread were delicious! The portion sizes are way too small, and the brisket that I was served was was 90% fat, so I couldn't eat it and the collard greens are a bit bland, I would suggest, using butter, apple...cider vinegar, honey and cayenne pepper to add some life to the collard greens. With that said the ambiance of the place was relaxing and inviting. If you are in the area you should definitely visit The Smoke JointMore
