We stopped here for a late lunch. The burgers are huge. I could only eat half of mine. They have so many burgers to choose from, I wish we could have gone back to try more. We both loved our burgers and our sides. (Sweet...potato fries and mac and cheese)More

We were at the cask and the cow mid week during Covid so it was very empty. The environment was nice. The wait staff was pleasant. My husband got a burger which was okay. Considering the burgers were the highlight of the menu I think...we expected better. I had the meatballs which were nice but were served luke warm. They reheated them for me but considering how slow it was there really isn’t any reason they shouldn’t have been served hot. My mixed drink was great. It was a cute place I would recommend going for a drink but skip the food.More

Visited Cask and Cow for the first time yesterday. Might be the worst burger I've had in a few years. The roll was dry as a bone. I ordered The Maverick which was supposed to have a Hungarian Pepper spread on it. It didn't. Seemed...more like the garlic truffle aioli, which would have been fine with me if it had been enough to moisten the dry roll. It also had some mushy mystery patty on top of the beef patty. I went back to the menu and there was nothing in the description of this burger that would equate to the mushy patty. The house made potato chips had good flavor, but about half of them were soft and rubbery. We won't be back. Lewiston has too many good placed to eat to warrant eating at C&C again.More

Amazing burgers can’t find a better place. I will recommend this place to everyone. Need to do more advertising and get the word out of how good you are. Can’t find this anywhere, so original!

I went with 3 friends the night of the Sarah McLachlan concert at Artpark. I made a reservation because I figured it would be busy. The service was terrible. We waited over 40 minutes to receive our food and when I told the waitress that...we needed to get to the concert, her response was "you and everyone else". When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager but I could speak to the owner. Nobody could find him. Not one employee at this place seemed to care about how long we waited (with a reservation) or doing anything to help us get out of there quickly including getting our bill paid. There are so many great restaurants in Lewiston and this place does not make the list!More

Lewiston, NY is a quiet and small town near Niagara Falls. That said, for a small town, Cask and Cow offers a tasty bite to a traveler looking for decent food away from the crowded tourist traps. Don't expect small town cuisine to compete with...expensive restaurants. But you can look to Cask and Cow for a filling meal and a place to relax with friends and watch the game after a day of sightseeing. On this visit I ordered the Holy Nandi burger with an upgraded side of truffle fries and an Angry Orchard. The Holy Nandi is described as "black truffle infused | crimini mushroom | caramelized balsamic onions | brie garlic spread." Good concept. Clean presentation. Execution could be better. My suspicion is that if it's black truffle infused OIL, the oil was old. Truffle oil is a finishing oil and very volatile. You will lose the flavor with heat or if the oil is old, and the truffle taste was not discernible in the burger nor on the fries. However, the crimini mushrooms, caramelized balsamic onions, and brie garlic spread gave the burger a nice blend of earthy, sweet, and savory tastes which I found to be the highlight of the burger. The bun did not detract from the burger; it held up well and its taste or texture did not take away from the burger itself. The truffle fries did not taste like truffle fries, though the parmesan still made it enjoyable, and it had a good crisp texture and was hot and steamy on the inside. My suggestion if they keep this menu item: make sure you have fresh truffle oil OR try to find a truffle infused brie. Cook up the burger, but put the slice of truffle brie on in the last minute or seconds so that it melts but the flavor is still there. They also make other kinds of mushroom infused bries that would work well. Then mince fresh garlic and add that in the burger. Maybe use a slightly less fatty burger patty with this since the brie is very rich, too, but it's not a big deal if you do not. If truffle oil is too difficult to keep around and keep fresh, turn your truffle fries into garlic parmesan fries with fresh garlic and freshly shaved parmesan.More

Only giving two stars as only 1 of the 4 from our group actually liked their meal, 3 of us got burgers, which basically just tasted like greasy rubbery meat in a bread roll, my friend got the chicken sandwich and said it tasted like...the chicken was frozen. Sadly we will not be returning as it felt like a waste of money with only one of us being satisfied. Service was also all over the place with orders not coming at same time and items being forgotten.More

Very good food every time we have been there. Burgers are delicious, they can be a gourmet burger or just a plain burger. Salads are fresh, haddock Friday dinners are great. We have brought many friends and family there who really enjoyed it.

Went here with another couple. This is local for us. The place is on the main street and there is no lot, but some on street parking and some spaces across the street at Academy Park. The decor is rustic chic, clean and the tables...aren't on top of one another. We had the fish specials (spicy panko fried, lemon butter baked and an Asian salmon) and one person had one of their fampus burgers, which was mondo in size and well prepared. The menu is pretty short, but offers salads, burgers and sandwiches as well as their specials. We were pleased with, the quality of the ingredients and the execution. The wine and beer list is very acceptable. Our server was personable, friendly and accommodating. Will try this is again...More
