Our first time here-- the main attraction was that they take reservations. The ambience was imperfect given the dim lighting in the rather crowded back room but after a while we didn't notice. As others have mentioned, the dishes are complicated but good. Service was crisp and overall we had a very good experience. Expensive.

Fantastic restaurant. Isn’t the Internet great. We wanted a nice restaurant for lunch close to the Cornell North Campus and this one showed up. (Thank you TripAdvisor and other reviewers.) The food was creative, well prepared and well presented. We also had dinner on another night and dinner is also recommended for fine dining. Although the food and menu is... More

You just can't go wrong with the HUGE Caesar salad on pesto flatbread with calamari. So yummy! It's practically three meals. Coffee is very good, tea selections are very nice, especially around the cold weather holidays. I've never been disappointed with the lunch-time service.

Had a lovely dinner there on 9/20 when I was visiting Ithaca. The maitre d' was wonderful and made a special effort to find us a table despite our call at the last minute on a busy weekend. The food was creative, with local ingredients. My husband had the best dish with a wonderful smoky pasta to accompany his cod.... More

Delicious menu and friendly, high-quality service. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a hidden gem! It is the type of place you may save for a special, occasion but it shouldn't be. The menu changes nightly, which warrants frequently trips.

We went here for our anniversary last night. I come from a family of wonderful cooks. We are so tired of eating out and thinking, we could do better at home. Looking for some beautiful and creative food? Look no further! The bar is gorgeous with a wonderful tapas menu. Try the BLD (breakfast lunch dinner) The dinner menu is... More

This is a notable dining experience. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful (one member of the party was vegan and the chef created an exceptional dinner). The food was simply superb. Halibut fresh light and flavorful. Cauliflower appetizer was a total treat! Do Not miss this food!

Although you'd think from the name that the Heights Cafe and Grill is informal, it's a bit less relaxed than the name might suggest. Service was attentive, although I must say that it was far slower than we wanted, and the meal was paced such that there were long breaks between courses. The food was tasty, and everyone ate well.... More

The Heights catered a wedding we attended and the food was amazing. The evening started off with lovely hor d'oeuvres and a great waitstaff. Once everyone was seated we enjoyed a sit down dinner that was served family style. Everything was delicious. The sides were so good, some tables asked for seconds and they were provided immediately. A truly wonderful... More

Description
The Heights Restaurant and H Bar was established in 1995 by Culinary Institute of America graduate James Larounis and his wife Heidi. We are located in the Village of Cayuga Heights, one mile from the center of Cornell University. The restaurant has a casual, contemporary atmosphere and features Mediterranean-inspired American cuisine. We place the utmost value on our seasonal menus and on sourcing locally. We also take great pride in our wine list which includes over 400 bottle selections from the United States and international regions, and over 20 wines by the glass. The Heights Restaurant and H Bar has been a Wine Spectator award winner since 1999.
