My wife, daughter and I dined at Simeon's this past weekend. Even though our table was ready upon our reservation time we first had a drink at the bar. We were amazed at the variety of bitters available for drinks. Even though she was busy the bartender was very accommodating in discussing them and drinks in general with us. I... More

REALLY wanted to love the 'new' Simeon's. Used to come here often for lunch before the tragedy. Loved the new interior, though the downstairs high-top sitting arrangements aren't very comfortable and with the outside temp a balmy 10 degrees, it was very cold in the room throughout our stay. Service wasn't great - entrees came out almost an hour after... More

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal on a wintry Saturday night. The restaurant was bustling but the service was well paced. We had roasted Brüssel sprouts seasoned with a little ham and breadcrumbs along with oysters on a half shell. I had a fantastic dinner of sea bass over fingerling potatoes with a tasty light sauce and husband really... More

We have enjoyed this place many times and were happy to see it reopen after the devastating accident. They up graded and expanded with the new but have kept the ambiance of the old. The bar is different as is having the upstairs seating area but the appeal is still there. We enjoyed drinks and small plate items which still... More

Recently renovated and reopened with a great bar scene. The place is charming and the food was fantastic... Oysters, octopus, salads, seafood and steaks.. there is something for everyone. We really enjoyed our meal.

As a long-time Ithaca resident, I was so saddened by the closure of Simeon's a few years ago due to a tragic accident. I think the "second coming" of this classic downtown bistro has been perfectly done! Management took their time to get everything just right. It's not the same as before (and couldn't be, since some of the historical... More

The oysters were decent and clean, but even during happy hour 1/2 price Friday the bill was expensive. The condiments were odd, I would expect at least some hot sauce but there was a tiny metal dish of some weird sweet red sauce, some sweet vinegary sauce, and some horseradish. The wine was expensive. The least expensive glass was $7.50... More

I did not like the menu at first as there were not many choices to pick from that I wanted. I did, however, get the little plates. The short ribs were perfect. PERFECT. I believe it was a special and I told the waiter to please ask the chef to make it permanent on the menu. If it is on... More

My wife and I have been visiting Simeon's for years, if not decades, on our regular trips to Ithaca for movies, shopping, hiking, and kayaking. This past weekend we were in town to catch two movies and had hoped to have a nice, easy, and delicious meal at Simeon's as we have done in the past. It was our first... More

Simeons has been an Ithaca institution for 40-plus years, but was remodeled recently and continues the tradition of fine dining on the Commons. The atmosphere of the remade restaurant is tasteful, cozy and possibly a step-up from any other downtown Ithaca restaurant. We like sitting upstairs but have never tried the "Oyster Bar" room, which our friends like. The menu... More
