My wife and I choose Agava for our Valentine's dinner since we have had many great meals there in the past. We both went with the special prix fixe menu. Our first course was an amazing lobster bisque. This course was the absolute highlight of...More

Based on the reviews and price point, I expected better food and service. Ambiance and decor are the highlight for Agava. Our waiter seemed completely uninterested in attempting attentive service. The tacos (2 to an order) with accompanying rice and beans were bland and lacked...More

Great place for lunch or dinner. The southwest cuisine is very well-seasoned but not too spicy. For those of us who like to turn up the heat, a variety of hot sauces are available including a delicious house habenero sauce. The fish tacos are a...More

We have lunch here several times and always enjoyed it. The service is great, pleasant, comfortable atmosphere, and well prepared interesting food. The restaurant is located in the middle of the Cornell Ag Campus and the customers are lively and stimulating.

We got to Agava as regularly as possible for the great ambiance, the great food, the great servers. We love the seating options--the cozy bar area, the open dining area with the pizza oven, and in the summer outdoor seating. We love the food, from...More

Lots of great reviews drew us to the place. Some of the food was good, but with 3 out of 4 of our orders having issues (2 burned burgers, and one incorrect side dish) we did not have the experience we expected. We went with...More

Agava easily accommodated our party of 11. Shawn was great. Everyone had a wonderful time. Their dinner specials extended a standard menu that offers numerous delectable selections making decisions difficult. Agava's menu focuses on local and regionally grown food. We were not disappointed.

Went with a large group on a Wednesday night. Made advance reservations and asked NOT to be seated in the bar area. Well, we did get seated there as that what was set up for our group of 15. No where else was available. It's...More

This is a pretty amazing place situated in the last place you'd think a Mexican themed restaurant would prosper and survive. The atmosphere is warm, some what rustic and very inviting. You're greeted with big smiles and a very friendly staff the moment you enter....More

Description
The AGAVA restaurant concept is rooted in local, farm-to-table cuisine, seasonal menu and a Southwest-Inspired palette. One of the central design and functional elements is a wood-fired oven with eating bar in the main dining space, serving up flatbreads and a range of other fire-roasted cuisine. Our bar is destination of its own; from the unique spirits & cocktails, to an environment and space you have to see for yourself. We feature one of the most unique interior spaces in the central NY region, drawing from both southwestern design elements like “latillas’ as well as local historical features like reclaimed barn wood. We’re based in the old East Ithaca Train Station, commissioned in 1876 by Ezra Cornell.
