Don’t go here if you have any food allergies the kitchen don’t take them seriously. My night nearly ended in tragedy. My response from the owner the next day was Denying they did it. Shear madness. Our waitress was amazing, but can’t risk death again.

Ordered the calamari and wedge salad, and an 8oz pour of a draft beer. Was impressed that they would pour any amount of a draft, and it was priced accordingly. The wedge salad was unconventionally interesting. But the rings were definitely not lightly breaded, but...overly so... enough that the chef could not tell that they were overcooked. Lightly breaded rings should still show the color of the rings so that the degree of doneness is obvious. The issue may be with the menu description. Had these been described as well breaded, I would have no complaint... I just wouldn't have ordered them.More

As a native Brooklynite, who would expect to find a NYC level restaurant in Geneva, NY?! Courteous staff, excellent food, presentation, and flexibility ((i.e. didn't want kale, substituted asparagus). Everyone loved their entrees, our only loss was we were too full for dessert! Advise reservations,...which we did not have, so we had to wait a bit.More

Excellent service by Kristy M Loved the free olive oil garnished with parmesan cheese, red chili flakes and balsamic vinegar served with bread. Enjoyed the entree of sesame salmon teriyaki. Loved the sauteed kale, raw pickled shaved carrots, quinoa and snap peas. Would have preferred...less teriyaki sauce; I didn't eat some of the kale because it was doused with sauce. Wished the salmon had been prepared as requested (medium); it was more than well done. Was glad I brought a seat cushion with me, since I don't enjoy sitting on hard, unpadded wooden chairs. Wished we hadn't been seated in the room with the pizza oven. Occasionally, there was some smoke in the room coming from that oven. Thankfully, the smoke didn't last long. Didn't notice any prices on the dessert or dessert drink menu. Decided not to order anything for dessert. I can afford whatever price they were charging but was turned off by the mystery prices. I'm better off without dessert anyway, so I'm glad my not finding prices caused me not to order dessert.More

We dined at Halsey's during our mini getaway to Lake Seneca. I am very undecided about recommending this restaurant. We ordered the crab farfalle & a garlic crab pizza. The food was very delicious. My problem is with the half plastic shields that a bartender, chef...at the pizza oven & our own server were wearing. I do not see how these are considered safe in preventing the spread of Covid. It does not cover the nose properly.I tried researching the shield online & it appears that these are not recommended. I was so distracted by these shields that I just wanted to finish my meal & leave.More

We were touring around the Finger Lakes and stopped overnight in Geneva. I found this great place downtown just a short walk from our hotel on the lake. I made a reservation online and it was recommended to get a table on the 2nd floor...as they said the main floor can be quite busy and noisy. However, when we arrived at 7:30 pm it was not busy at all, so we took a table on the main floor. The staff here was really great and attentive to our table. All wore masks and the tables were spaced nicely due to the virus. The decor here is very nice as well. They also use a wood fired oven for pizzas and a few other entrees. We started with a bottle of Tresuelos Temprenillo, excellent Spanish wine. I had a pre-dinner drink, an El Diablo served in a copper cup, as we shared a Avocado Bruschetta appetizer. For entrees my wife had Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and a Wedge Salad. I had the Crab Farafalle. So delicious, and very fresh tasting crab. We were undecided on dessert between the Creme Brulee or the Chocolate Decadence, decided on the latter, which was great. However, our server Mari charged us for both desserts. When told, she immediately removed the charge for it. If you visit Geneva, NY, be sure to have dinner at Halsey's. Incredible place with fine dining as it should be.More

Couldn't have asked for a better in-restaurant experience than Halsey's. We got this reco from FLX Provisions nearby (which you need to visit too) when we asked where could we have the best steak? Halsey's was the answer 1000000%. It's during COVID and we even...got to enjoy the meal at the bar. We had a brilliant Cab Sauv from Nina behind the bar - what an amazing person who made this meal so great. We started with the brussels sprouts which were perfection too. Then I went all out and did surf and turf - grilled shrimp and a rib eye. The meat was HUGE and I got to bring home a bunch of it, not mad about it as it was my lunch today. Epically smooth mashed potatoes and the blue cheese butter were the perfect complements. My friend had filet and cleaned her plate. Finalized with the key lime cheesecake. We left as two happy foodies!More

I hate to give a mediocre review but absolutely disgusted by the size of the slice of pie they serve. This is the sister restaurant of Parker’s right next door. We went to Parker’s on super bowl Sunday and ordered two slices of pie. I...was flabbergasted that the server delivered two sliver slices of pie for $6. I thought it was a fluke. We then went to Halsey s in March with another couple who had a good experience there. The decor was stunning(especially the upstairs) and relaxing. The server was very friendly and efficient. Little concerned from the beginning that the china and silverware was nice, but the napkins were like a fancy paper-towel. Prices seemed high for the meals. I got the scallops, which were just okay. I don’t know if they weren’t as fresh or not cooked right. The bed of asparagus and sauce the scallops was on were excellent. We previously visited Parker’s in Seneca fall’s and had a excellent visit. We all had hamburgers which seems to be the consistent stable at both Parker’s and Halsey’s. The vegetarian lasagna was excellent. The salmon less than good. The cream brûlée was the best desert bargain at $6 but wasn’t really worth the calories. The coconut cream pie slice at $8 was so thin and small, it was insulting and although touted as homemade, the filling tasted similar to box pudding. Sorry 😔. The maple cheesecake at $7 was very good.More
