Bread and butter diner choice

A group of friends was meeting up in Elmsford for a weekend road trip and we gathered at the El Dorado Diner. We were happy with the choice. The staff was friendly and let us linger until all arrived. The menu was the usual varied diner selection and the food was satisfactory. Overall, a solid diner choice.

what a great place!

Cute dinner, family owned with very sweet staff. The great thing about this place is that pretty much anything you can want is on the menu so if you're unsure what to get on a trip with multiple people there are tons of options. And there's loads of dessert options too!

Nice supper after a busy day

After a very busy day on our New England tour, our group stopped at the Eldorado Diner in Elmsford New York on our way to Tarrytown. The service was friendly and efficient. I was exhausted from our busy schedule and ordered simply a milkshake, and my husband had a plate of nachos. We both enjoyed the food. Our large group was seated all over, but the staff accommodated us readily. Prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. I was happy to be able to just order something simple after several nights of more formal food than this diner provided.

Bad attitude

Unfriendly Staff. Poor quality food. I had to throw away my $20 sandwich it was full of fat and tasted awful. I’ve been to this place before and very often they get my order wrong. Or the food is cold. On one of my take out orders they left out 2 items. I drove back. Explained my query. And the Manager’s response was do you want it or not?. I’m sorry I am the customer it wasn’t my mistake. I’ve worked in customer service all my life and the customer always comes first. This gentleman shouldn’t be dealing with customers.

Great variety!

A local employee at the hotel we were staying recommended this place and he didn't steer us wrong. It had a huge variety of foods. My husband ordered the fish and I had a grilled cheese sandwich, French fries, coleslaw and a chocolate milkshake (typical diner fare!) and the food certainly didn't disappoint. My husband wanted to return here for breakfast but our breakfast came with the hotel. My only issue was finding this place - the sign from the direction we came was blocked by trees. We were about to give up when we happened to see it when we had turned around to go back to the hotel.

Generous portions but typical diner food!

After visiting the Lyndhurst Mansion on Friday evening, my family and friend decided to visit for dinner since our friend had been here before. Coming from NJ, which is the diner capital of the world, it resembled all the rest. Our table ordered tuna on rye with sweet potato fries, vegetable egg white omelet with potatoes, turkey club with sweet potato fries, and an avocado omelet. Portions were very generous. Sweet potato fries were bland with no seasoning. The potatoes that came with the omelets were bland as well. My turkey club was stacked and tasty. The tuna on rye was a success but the sides were below average. Service was very good. Prices might have been a tad high but acceptable. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking in their private lot. It's located off the highway and across the street from a couple of chain hotels.

Huge menu, big portions, varying results.

This is a very traditional diner with a huge menu. We visited a couple of times as it was very convenient to our hotel and was easy to get a seat. Some entries were very good. Others were just ok. Overall it was a reasonable value. The service was ok - a bit slow. One of my orders had the wrong side. The selection and convenience were positives for us so we would go back if were were in the area.

Now this was a great idea!

Instead of having a mediocre hotel breakfast, we opted to go to the Eldorado. This was a fine thing to do. We were there early on a Sunday morning, and it was filling up quickly. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The place is clean and dishes were all perfect. We are coming back for pie.

Poor, diner went downhill

We placed a takeout order a few days ago. The coleslaw had "turned" and it was sour. The feta cheese was bad, as in past its prime, like the coleslaw. Hamburgers were tasteless. We will not stop here again. This used to be a good diner. Not anymore.

Greasy spoon type of restaurant so don't expect gourmet. But really good breakfast and dinner wasn't bad either. Had a burger and fries for dinner and was pretty good. Ownership/management was very friendly as well.

Nice folks. Good food. Went for breakfast, twice. Loved the chubby sausages. Clean. Everything you could expect from a diner. Maybe not "gourmet" but top 10 diner fare. At least at breakfast.

Great Diner Food
