Not a lot of gelato places in Western NY. And even those that do attempt it fall short on the flavors. Big Dipper is an except. While all their homemade ice creams are appealing, the gelato is THE REASON to go. Creamy and bursting with really great flavor. I had the amaretto last visit and it was an almondy delight.... More

Fabulous chocolate peanut butter ganache ice cream cake. I called 4 days prior to order and the very attentive and kind woman guided me through the vast selections. Ordering and payment over the phone was professional. Thank you, the 3 generations of moms as the other 7 guests really enjoyed this treat!

There are many many specialty concoctions to choose from as well. Had i not eaten dinner just prior to my visit i surely would have had... More

Great ice cream and dessert place on Central Ave in Dunkirk. Love the creamy custard twist ice cream in a waffle cone. Large crowds at times but the line moves quickly.

A return to yesteryear with a million flavors, giant cones and soft serves and all the goodies ice cream parlors of old had. I stop here whenever I am in Dunkirk for a treat on the way home. Come and get it! You will love it!

Lot's of homemade hard ice cream & frozen desserts. They also use purées from Italy to create flavors. They have been around for 46 years! Sadly they are not open during the winter.

Great variety of soft serve and hard ice cream. The flavorful hand dipped ice cream is made in-house. There's a special section of interesting Italian flavors. Eat in or take out. Nice seating area.

No sugar free-fat free products. Over priced compared to other ice cream parlors in the area and portions are small. Service is wonderful, and an old fashion atmosphere.
