We hadn't been here in a while, but boy were we surprised with the staff and quality of food. The last time we went it was slow, our order was wrong and the service was terrible. This time it was different. It was great service, the food was excellent. We had taco burgers and chile cheese fries. My husband had... More

Armijo's Mexican Restaurant has changed hands a couple of times since we've been going there--but in spite of this, still manage to serve some of the tastiest Mexican food in the state. A favorite of mine is the 'special hamburger steak', which is, essentially, a large hamburger patty smothered in either a red or green chili sauce, topped with cheddar... More

This is an authentic family -Mexican restaurant with exceptional tamales as well as green and red chilies. The setting is like a blue plate diner, but the food and service are quite good. If you are heading west to the VLA as we were, this is a good stop--with free parking, just off the highway.

This was a very lucky find for my son and me because Socorro, New Mexico has some of the worst restaurants you can imagine. Armijo's, however, has excellent Mexican food which is very reasonably priced and the service is quick and efficient.

As an Arizonan, I'm accustomed to some amazing Mexican food. Being in NM I was on the look out for some good hearty home made green chile, as green chiles are grown in the state. I ordered the green chile enchiladas and was disappointed in the green sauce. It was like water with chunks of chiles in it... my cheese... More

I ate dinner at Armijo’s twice while on a recent business trip to Socorro. Armijo’s is on the south end of town, away from most of the other restaurants in Socorro. The first time I ate here I had the flat enchilada plate with carne adovada and red chile. The beans were really good, but I thought the rice was... More

Not your typical tex-mex food. More traditional. We had the chicken enchiladas which were fabulous. The tamales were pretty good but the tacos were not very tasty. My husband ate his but I didn't. Meals come with chips, beans and rice. Lots of food so come hungry. The meal also comes with sopapillas which were more like Indian fry bread.... More

We wanted a to-go box to help take home half of our chalupa plate and the signature dish -- the taco burger. The latter consisted of a hamburger patty and a slice of cheese in a tortilla. We couldn't quite see what the fuss was, but it was tasty. The chalupas were mounded high with lettuce and tomato. There's a... More

I went to Armijo's yesterday for the Platos Grande. It was very tasty, sort of a chicken stir-fry. Not real carb friendly as it comes with rice and chips. But it makes two meals for one person. I have a pretty big appetite and yet I could've shared! Emma greets you. She is a sweetie.
