This is a very small establishment. We were greeted immediately by a friendly and welcoming server and seated promptly. A menu and water was also delivered quickly. The food was delivered quickly and piping hot. We both had the taco trio, and while it wasn't...the best we've ever had, it was good and filling. NOTE: We were told at the hotel desk that all the area restaurants keep their own time of when they want to open and to call first.More

Ignore the location. This is a teeny tiny little place in a somewhat shady part of town. However, the food had big flavor. My reason for a 4 is that charging $2.99 for a plastic glass of iced tea and $2.50 for a coke seemed...excessive for basic beverages. To reiterate , the food was good and the server was fine.More

Great local stop, just a bit off the highway and totally worth it. Tables were full with a wait when we got there for lunch. They are fast, friendly, and totally delicious and super reasonable on pricing. Simple place that hits it out of the...park. Taco shells look and taste home made, the shredded chicken is very flavorful and the beef in the Green Chile and Meat burrito is good exceptionally tender. We loved it!More

As an interstate traveler for nearly 30 yrs, and having passed through the small town of Lordsburg too many times to count; I’m amazed I’d never stop and eaten at any of the small number of restaurants available here. Of course one reason could be...that I’m usually holding out till I arrive in the Las Cruces area, to sample one of the excellent eateries available in Old Mesilla. Unfortunately with the strict NM covid lockdown, dining there has become a bit too difficult. Ramona’s is located directly on the business route, about a mile west of the Pilot Travel Center. Parking is limited to a couple of street side spaces, so be prepared. The building is small, and seating is limited, but there is a table or 2 outside, as well as a fairly busy but efficient takeout service. Decor is typical Southwestern NM; and though the building is obviously old, the interior was clean and inviting. The Menu leans Mexican, though they do offer a decent number of American options. I was set on the Mexican route, and was not disappointed. Ordered the combo 2, which included 2 tacos, Chile relleno, green Chile enchilada, and tamale; as well as the usual beans n rice, and lettuce tomato, and diced onions. Add to this, a tasty serving of chips n salsa, and you’ll leave here without having to eat another meal for awhile. Everything was excellent: With the relleno taking home the blue ribbon. I’ll add that the chips n salsa were memorable as well. Food gets the 5... Can’t give a fair review without mentioning the service: and this one was easy. The lovely young lady waiting tables was flawless: Topped off the glasses quickly, and brought everything out piping hot, and in a timely manner. She was working hard, and though she had to be exhausted wearing her mask, she had a dynamic personality, and positive attitude. Oh, and she also recommended the very tasty sopapillas to top off my meal; nice touch. Yes, I liked her from the start. Service gets a 5+, due to her efforts. In conclusion, I’m very impressed with this little eatery. Anytime you have excellent food, combined with excellent service, you’ll have little to complain of. If I had one small complaint, besides NM strict covid laws making it difficult to find a place to dine; it’d be to add a 2nd A/C, as it was fairly warm in the dining room, for a mild 70 degree day. But all n all, this place is absolutely worth a visit. If passing through, make a stop and Ramona’s.... EnjoyMore

I was on a X country trip and Lordsburg was a convenient place to stay. I had THE best breakfast at Ramona's cafe, just off the highway at 904 E motel drive. Delicious huevos rancheros, home made. no salsa from a jar, but a choice...of green or red chili sauce with meat in it. choice of beans+rice or hash browns. No matter what you pick its delicious. If passing by Lordburg, definitely drive a few minutes past the travel plaza's and the food is soo much better.. Its the greatest little cafe, just across the train tracks. As I was there during covid, they kept good precautions, mask wearing and tables were spaced out.More

The home-made chips, the home-made salsa, the Mexican coke in 1/2 liter glass bottles, the chicken chimichanga, the cheese enchiladas, the red and green sauce, the large portions, the friendly service, and the reasonable bill are all the best.
