We had breakfast at the Golden Girls Café. Excellent food at a great price. The lady who runs it provides a bit of western culture and would be the highlight of the meal, except the food was very good also. The lady does it all her self, cooks and serves, she does an amazing job for a single person restaurant.... More

Returning home from Alpine, Az. we stopped...not fancy, kind of plain cooking but so affordable and fresh food...ALL kinds of eggs to choose from. Lady that runs it makes all the cute purses hanging on the wall...she is a hoot and a kick in the pants...a ray of sunshine in the morning. We had little cash on us (use debit... More

Small house/cafe, food was delicious, we had turkey melt with green chili but the meatloaf specials looked amazing! Sun tea was very good, worth the stop!

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast after spending the night up the road at the Cosmic Campground. Glenwood used to be much more of a hopping town with several lodging establishments and restaurants. It has been reduced to almost nothing thanks to the closure of the Catwalk for more than 2 years. Anyway, we had a terrific breakfast... More

Small cafe with limited hours but a very good breakfast at reasonable price. Owner/waitress was pretty stingy with conversation but not rude .

This place has good breakfast and good conversation. It's a bit like going into someone's home for breakfast. Food is basic but it is very good and there's usually a few people having breakfast that you can converse with. The owner is a character and will keep you entertained. She also sells crafts and homemade jellies that are delicious. The... More

Breakfast here is a real experience in a small rural NM town. Excellent food and great company! People are friendly and fun!

Loved the breakfast of cheese omelet with potatoes and grilled chile-cheese biscuit - all cooked from scratch (they also had a yummy spiced apple homemade jam - no commercial jams!). It was all delicous! This restaurant is slightly run-down looking on the outside, but is just fine on the inside.

Sadly, currently, it is also the only place in Glenwood you can get breakfast! However it was an excellent home cooked breakfast with endless cups of coffee. Once we had engaged the owner in conversation we found her very pleasant indeed and a mine of information on an assortiment of topics including jams and jellies which she makes and sells.... More

I'm a pretty nice, friendly person, but am clearly an outsider to the area, which may explain why the owner has never been very welcoming or friendly (though some of the regulars are). I pass through this area a few times a year and I keep telling myself I won't return to the restaurant -- because the experience is so... More
