I just moved to Alamogordo and was told if I wanted good bbq to go to Cloudcroft. Drove up here with the family and was mind blown for how good the food was. I had brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans and peach cobbler. Highly recommend!

Thanks!! I’m sorry about the ribs! We had the first several customers take multiple racks of ribs! We hope to see you again in the future.

Well. Theres not really much to say that hasn't been said already.. but I'll say my piece anyway. I read all the reviews that talked about how long of a wait there would be.. but I guess I just didn't take it seriously enough. I...More

Pros: I lived over a decade in East Texas, across the street from the area's premier bbq brand, Bodacious. My wife is from Texas and knows barbeque. Mad Jack's brisket is easily the best in New Mexico, and IMO, better than Bodacious! It is just...More

The waiting was horrendous as it was so cold I couldn’t feel my toes, but I don’t feel that’s a reason to give Mad Jack’s one star. I had the mountain top sandwich, original sausage, mac and cheese and the sour cream potato salad. The...More

We were in the area and heard that the place was open. We went for a late lunch and we're glad we did. I have been trying out different Bar-b-qu places and I have a New Top place now.

Negatives: 1. Long lines to get in 2. Often sold out of what you went for & have to settle for something else.

I got there around five o'clock on a Sunday afternoon and they were closed because they were sold out! They have a food truck around the corner that serves the same food. The only thing they had left was brisket and sausages. Cloudcroft is an...More

Thanks David for your review! Yes, we’re only open for lunch. We open at 11am and go until we run out. Everything is gone usually around 3-3:30. Then we clean and begin prepping for our night cook for the following day. It works well this...More

I viewed the line of people from across the street and had to try it. I was not disappointed. The creamy potato salad was awesome, the sausage imported from Texas had great flavor, and my chopped brisket sandwich in Sourdough bread hit the spot. The...More

11AM until he runs out of food, which is usually mid-afternoon or even earlier. You need to get here at opening if you want food. Open Thursday-Sunday.

They vary with the season. They close at least one day during the week so it's best to call ahead for current hours. They don't sell leftovers so once they're out of food they close for the day so plan to go early.
