Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food

My husband, my brother and I visited Happy Chappy Chinese. On entrance the restaurant is very nice, great ambience and staff were helpful straight away. Menus were brought over quickly and drinks mixed at your table, they were very strong! :) I was being bothered by a mosquito and the lady brought repellent over for me without me even asking which I thought was lovely. Food was good, fried rice was very nice! Would go back again, bit more expensive then most in Bali.

Delicious, Tastefully Decorated, Spacious Restaurant

On arrival we were greeted and seated in a spacious booth with very comfortable seating, the waitstaff being friendly and attentive. The menu was extensive and we were advised that the Peking Duck was their speciality and we were not disappointed. All our meals were cooked to perfection and delicious. Highly recommend the Dim Sum.

Ridiculous...ly fabulous!

I have dined at Happy Chappy numerous times (both the one on Jalan Beraban and the one at Canggu Plaza), during no time was I ever disappointed. Rather surprised at how it never cease to go beyond my expectations! This time, we ordered the Xiao Long Bao (my favorite), Half of the HK Roast Duck (another favorite), chicken feet, peking duck bao, crispy chicken bao, duck spring rolls, chicken and mushroom shu mai. They were all fantastic and mindblowing. The roast duck was my favorite this time—crispy outer part of the skin with just enough fattiness of the fat under the skin, juicy and succulent meat! Absolutely in awe. Safe to say that it was our best dinner during our vacation. I’m very looking forward to dine at Happy Chappy Chinese again soon!

I ate at Happy Chappy with

I ate at Happy Chappy with six friends on New Year’s Eve 2020. When we arrived at 8 pm we found our table next to a table with approximately 20 people, about eight of which were young children. The young children were loud and unruly on a constant basis. Their parents did nothing about it and simply ignored them. We asked the staff to speak with the parents, but for whatever reason they declined. When we asked to move to another table they told us there were none available even though there were several empty tables we could have been seated at away from the unruly table. Finally after about 20 minutes they did move us. That however did not solve our issue with the children. All during our dinner they were running up and down the aisles screaming and yelling. I cannot understand how their parents could allow them to do that nor can I understand why management did nothing to stop it. When we left at about 10:30 they were still at it. The food was good, as always, and the staff attentive, but I do not intend to return for a very very long time, A ruined New Year’s Eve.

Peking duck at Happy Chappy

Went tonight based on reviews saying the Peking Duck was amazing. We ordered the half peking duck and unfortunately we were dissapointed. The peking duck itself came out with very small portions. Some consisting only of bits of skin. The pancakes were likely pre done as they were dry and cold. The other items off the menu were nice. We had the sesame chicken and spicy Pork fried rice. Dim sum was also nice. The Peking Duck really let it down, although the overall experience was not unpleasant we would not return again.

Terrible service

Normally I go to the one in canggu but google maps redirected us to the seminyak location. Terrible services. Then to make matters worse. When we were all done eating without even asking they cleared an entire large bowl of untouched wonton soup we wanted to have for take away. No ask just assumed. So we had to ask them for our soup to go and sat there for 20 mins while they remade it or what ever they did. Never bothered to tell us it was ready and then we we got back noticed it was not even a small order. There was only one ☝️ singular wonton dumpling in the soup which we paid full price for. Never again will I eat at the seminyak happy Chappy location. One in canggu is amazing. Awesome service great food. The other one was a scam. Also it was empty at 19:00 says a lot about a restaurant that’s empty during peak dining hours

Fantastic food, portions and service

Had a great evening. We ordered peeking duck lettuce wraps and salt and pepper chicken which was delicious. Then we got chicken chow mein, sesame chicken and szechuan beef which were also fantastic. We had eyes bigger than our belly so have taken the rest home!! Such good service. Highly recommend!

Due to covid only delivery

Due to covid we haven’t visited the restaurant, but so far this trip have had food delivery 4 times. The food is always up to standard, fresh and tasty. We love the sweet and sour pork, duck spring rolls and basically everything we’ve ordered. A bit pricey for Bali, but worth it for the quality.

Absolutely not authentic just expensive

Unfortunately I was completely disappointed. It’s not authentic Chinese food. I would suspect no one involved in cooking as stepped foot in China. I ordered the shredded beef dish. They fried the beef like chicken (not fresh I could taste it was frozen) and then added sauce to a wok to heat it up. It frankly was so hard my tooth hurt after eating it. Beef jerky is more tender. I also ordered snow pea fried rice. Zero flavor and 1 snow pea perhaps cut up in 5 cm portions. Overall totally felt ripped off for the price I paid. I had been here pre-pandemic and it was totally different.

Perfect Chinese take away 5/5

We visited for a take away. The menu has a wide range of offerings and we selected a beef black bean and chicken fried rice. The food came quickly and it was piping hot, delivered in robust environmentally friendly containers. The food was fantastic, tasty and must have utilised the finest ingredients. We waited inside the restaurant and saw that it has a nice traditionally Chinese layout. There was plenty of guest as a wedding party was underway. Even with the wedding, the food arrived in minutes and we were waved off with a pleasant goodbye. Overall, an excellent venue, food and service. Well worthy of my five star review.

A great spot for chinese food

I’m not usually a big fan of chinese but this has changed my opinion, my husband is a big fan already, the dim sum was really nicely done and full of flavour, sesame chicken and noodles was again very tasty, small dishes are enough for two to share, and my husband had peking duck, which he really enjoyed. Cocktails were nice and lots of new ones we had never tried. It was not too expensive either. Hoping to visit again during our holiday

Sunday dim sum is unmissable

We went for the all you can eat dim sum. It runs every Sunday from 11am to 3pm, for a 90 minute sitting. The meal also includes free flow hot or cold tea. The food was fabulous and generous. The steamed options are in a trolley which is wheeled to your table. You choose the options you’d like, and there didn’t seem to be any limit on how many you could choose at a time. There’s a table when you first enter showing all of the fried dim sum options. This table is purely for information - the actual dish c9 es straight from the kitchen. The salt and pepper chicken and turnip cake were real highlights. The restaurant is gorgeous inside and the staff friendly. Really worth the tip!

Best Chinese food

Came here twice we enjoyed it so much. Best Chinese ever. We’ve had spring rolls, San Chou Bow, sweet and sour chicken and pork, prawns and fried rice dishes. All amazing!

Convenient for our hotel and better than average Chinese restaurant

We liked this place and considering it was so convenient for our hotel eat there twice. On both occasions we had the chicken and sweet corn soup which really hit the sweet spot. Nothing complicated but just really tasty . Had kungpo chicken which was lovely and beef Cantonese style which was ok but a little bland . Vegetable chow mein delicious . Second visit has pork cha su which was delicious . Local wine available which made the meal overall pretty good value. If you like Chinese food you wont be disappointed here .

A must when in bali if you love Chinese food.

Food is amazing. Service fabulous and what great value for money. We ended up eating here twice in a five day trip. Living in Perth where Chinese food is not as good (in my opinion) I love coming to Bali and eating here. The portion size is so large and generous. A large rice would feed four as part of a meal with other dishes. Highly recommend the Szechuan beef.
