Ginger Moon Canteen is a Bali icon, first opening in December of 2012 Ginger Moon Canteen has garnered an enormous, devoted customer base over the years. A home away from home for so many this is the first and last stop for countless visitors that flock to Bali throughout the year. When our regular guests think of Bali, it is Ginger Moon Canteen that first springs to mind. “It’s a sharing thing” is the driving culture and ambition of Ginger Moon Canteen. We believe that whenever people share a meal with friends, family or loved ones, this is when they are at their happiest. Guests at Ginger Moon are encouraged to order several dishes to share and take time to savour the exquisite flavours. Had lunch here 27/1/20 we had a few bao’s and the sampler platter it was all well prepared and packed with flavour. I couldn’t fault the food and would eat here again. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 out of 5 is because it was too pricey for what you get you can dine at other Asian restaurants close by with even better food and better service for cheaper. We were sitting inside with other diners for the aircon and unfortunately one of the staff keep standing with the front door open letting all the cool air out and wasps in which bothered us and you could overhear guests at other tables complaining about it. It was annoying when you need to order something having to try get staffs attention when they are to busy chatting to each other at the door watching outside and the other staff were at the bar with the back facing the restaurant doing nothing. If they want to convince more people to come in just close the door and stand out the front and take care of your paying diners keeping them cool and have indoor staff be more attentive rather than have them focusing attention on people walking past.

Thank you for visiting our little oasis. It is nice to know that you are enjoyed our food.
Please let me explain about our service. The service is usually very alert so it is very disappointing learning the staff was not up to scratch on the day you visited, I have taken your comments on board seriously and it will be used on our daily briefing. I will do my best to ensure everyone receives the same level of service.
Ginger Moon is certainly not too pricey, we represent excellent value for money. We consistently serve the highest quality of food and beverages possible in a warm, relaxed but professional environment. And regarding our front door, we keep it open all day, because it makes easier for our staff to do the service in and out of the terrace.
We look forward to seeing you again when on your next holiday to Bali.

We came here after it being highly recommended by other tourists in our hotel. The food and service was flawless, we ordered the duck pancakes, some buns and a main each and I can honestly say the food was delicious.
However when it came to the bill I noticed some of the prices were a little more than advertised on the bill (and I'm not talking about the tax or service charge!) Maybe 5000 rupee here and there on a few items, e.g. duck was an extra 5,000 and the nasi goreng bbq ribs was 6,000 extra. So just be careful pricing wise.
This isn't a lot of money in GBP for two people so we just paid it but it can quickly add up if your in a larger group. Or if your on a tight budget, it might not the best place to go. So please check!

I am a little confused why you say check your bill properly, there is no need for you to say this as we are a professionally run business with customer satisfaction at the forefront. The prices on our menus inside and out 100% match the prices on your bill, we are certainly not misleading anyone. Our menus where very recently updated, the only thing I can think of is that our website is stilling being updated, is this what you are referring to I wonder? I wouldn’t think so though as you order from our menu when visiting us not from our website, also the menus on our website clearly state the following: “Please Note - Prices are subject to change without notice”.

Staying close by, we stopped here for a meal and quite by chance were pleased at the great atmosphere and the super staff who served us. The menu is basic but the pizzas we had were well cooked and delicious. Prices were reasonable and it was air conditioned which made it a very comfortable place to eat. Situated on the main drag, you can also sit at an outside table to get a feel of this wonderful place.

This place is busy, for a very good reason. The food was superb. The service was perfect. Good drink choices including cider! Tried a number of different dumplings, all excellent. Corn fritters were great. Every dish we saw looking amazing. Favourite was the Peking duck pancakes by far. For that don’t even really like duck, still worth trying! You can order a number of things and they’ll bring it out dish by dish if you like do you don’t have to try and eat everything whilst it’s hot. Very accommodating restaurant well worth the visit

The greatest service and food l have had in Bali. Would highly recommend a visit the flavours where amazing and nothing to much trouble. Never waited to be served for food or drinks any enquires about the selection of dishes was well explained to us. See you next time we visit Martha

Our family of 4 (with 3 coeliacs) picked Ginger Moon to eat at on our second night in Seminyak because they specifically list GF options on the menu - which is always a good sign in a place where not many others do. We had a great meal - and our server was attentive to the GF needs, pointing out that one proposed order would not be GF. The food was excellent, the service very good....however....my 20 year old son had the GF pizza, and commented at the time what a good pizza base it was. We found out why when within 2 hours he was violently ill, and this continued for 4 hours through the night. Our only conclusion was that there was a mix up with the pizza bases.... not a good start to our holiday :(

Thank you for dining at Ginger Moon Canteen, we are delighted to know you had a great meal for the most part. We are however horrified to hear your son fell ill, we are sincerely sorry to hear this but appreciate you letting us know. We hope he had a speedy recovery.
There was no mix up with Pizza bases, this I can assure you. The team handled these pizza with the utmost of care, they are cooked on baking paper so they don’t touch the bottom of the oven, and they are then cut on a special board with a knife reserved for gluten free pizza only. The best gluten free pizza is a comment we hear frequently. We cannot make gluten free pizza bases in house as we don’t have a separate kitchen to do this, as you will be aware cross-contamination is a big deal with genuine coeliacs and so we outsource these from the most reputable supplier of gluten free products in Bali. I have contacted them and they are aware of what has taken place.
We trust you will all enjoy the rest of your holiday.

This classy restaurant is right on the High Street so you won’t miss it. It gets very busy and haven’t eaten that we can understand why. It is a classy place without doubt and the service was superb.
It isn’t the cheapest though . The beer for example was the most expensive we had during a month in Bali and then they add the taxes on! We also found the menu reasonably limited but both eventually settled on the nasi goreng as it is a favourite of ours. It was done in an inventive way, was a big portion and very tasty indeed.
As I mentioned, it does get very busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation beforehand.

Regarding our pricing, as far as price goes Ginger Moon represents unbeatable value for money, give our surroundings, level of service and most importantly the quality of drinks and food we serve. And yes we added 10% the government tax and 7% service charge are required by law and is standard throughout Indonesia, these costs are clearly mentioned on all menus.

Ginger Moon would have to be the best value for money for food. We had the $52 banquet for two and it was sensational, 7 courses, every one a winner. Cocktails nice but a bit on the expensive side. The service speed was perfect with a good break between courses and the service was exceptional.

Dined for dinner. Returned after our previous visit 2 years ago. We shared the chicken curry spring rolls, beef rendang steamed buns, ginger prawn dumplings & lamb pizza. I also had a ginger iced tea. Food was still delicious as we remembered it to be & service friendly. Place was full as usual.

Ginger moon is a delight for the taste buds.
If you are looking for a restaurant that caters for those that are gluten free this is one for you.
It was a pleasure to dinner where the staff understood the impact to someone celiac or gluten intolerant.
This menu caters for most people.
The wonton soup while not gluten free was excellent. Very filling. Satay sticks tasty. Great desserts
Lovely venue. Give it a go. You will enjoy the experience.

We arrived to Ginger Moon with a reservation and were seated straight away and well looked after.
Drinks arrived quickly and we had a lovely waitress, cant remember her name but she gave me tips on how to make Balinese Coconut pancakes. :)
I had the Ayam Betutu and it was fantastic and my husband had curry which he said was fantastic.
Cant fault this place, the setting was lovely to and in eat street Seminyak so close to everything.

Food was great, very punchy flavours and well presented.
Service was good
Only negative was the seating, they have crammed too many tables in, so you are practically sitting with the people on either side of you. Tables are so close our waitress could not squeeze between them to serve our food.

Regarding our seating, we are only a small restaurant, that why downstairs seating is close together. Ginger Moon was right across the road from our Villa and we wandered in on our second night to try to find a meal after spending our first 2 days feeling unwell. Their steamed barramundi and jasmine rice was an absolute winner to help settle our stomachs! We loved it so much that we returned another 5 or 6 times throughout the rest of our trip. We loved every single meal we had there and also went to their sister restaurant, Jackson Lily's. I could not recommend this restaurant enough, you have to try it! We also loved their repurposed glasses and water bottles so much that we bought a set to bring home. This is an absolute must try!

Recently visited Ginger Moon and all I can say is if you're in Bali, never mind Seminyak, you definitely don't want to miss this place.
The food is unreal and when it has four flames on, it's not playing. Our waitress (so sorry I didn't catch your name) was so helpful, wisely telling us not to go for three starters, the food is plentiful, delicious and amazing value for money.

I have heard people rave about Ginger moon but this was the worse restaurant we ate at in Bali.
I had a fish dish it was dry and rubbery my husband had spring rolls and Nasi goreng he had a really upset stomach the next day. Service was terrible we was shown our table given menus and then waited 10 minutes to be served we had to ask to place our drink orders and though we better order our food while waitress is there. No one came and asked if we wanted any more drinks or dessert menu.
With so many better options in Seminyak I wouldn’t go back here.
