Guests regularly describe Hibiscus Restaurant in Bali as a “hidden gem” dining experience in Seminyak. An Indonesian Balinese chef heads our kitchen, but our menu features something for everyone. Come for a date or bring the whole family. In addition to regional favorites — like Kalimantan spring rolls, Pepes ikan, Sumatran beef rendang — we also serve an array of international dishes and comfort food, including chicken wings, crunchy onion blooms, fish and chips, and various pasta dishes. At Hibiscus, we only use the freshest ingredients, and our entire staff works hard to ensure that everyone who walks through the doors has a delicious experience at our restaurant in Bali. Our minimalist, elegant dining room is open daily and guests return to our restaurant in Seminyak time and time again. We look forward to welcoming and feeding you!

Elevated Indonesian Food

Great little restaurant with good Indonesian food and kind staff. They gave us hibiscus tea and spiced nuts (free of charge) when we sat down, and offered mints as we left. Small touches but makes a difference in a restaurant experience :) I had the Mie Goreng which was great and my boyfriend had the tempeh burger which he thoroughly liked as well.

I have been here many times during my stay in Drupadi. Clean environments, good ambience, great lounge music and the food was fabulous. The best Chicken Spring rolls I ever had in the island and the Beef rendang was just perfectly cooked. Outstanding service from the server (Arya). Well trained staff with huge of food and beverages knowledge. Well done Hibiscus. Will definitely visit this place again

It’s great to see this excellent restaurant open once more. The menu is short and sweet and everything we tried was exemplary. The beef rendang and ayam betutu were perfect, the fried ice cream and black rice pudding were on point, the music was a perfect fit and Made was professional and friendly throughout. It’s a really lovely place and deserves to be full.

Hidden gem off the Seminyak beaten track - do not miss.

This was a completely unexpected experience. A small but smart looking restaurant off the main Eat Street drag that serves superb Indonesian food in lovely surroundings and with staff who were attentive and very welcoming. We had beef rendang (a classic done so well by Hibiscus when so many places fail hands down), sweet and sour pork, satay and green beans. Super reasonable prices considering the high quality and a wine list to match that made you realise how much others mark up in this area. Loved the style of the decor too, very sleek yet welcoming. Don’t miss or walk / drive past this gem.

Outstanding Food and Service

Visited this little restaurant a week ago, and that was our second visit. Food was great. We tried apple blini, crispy prawns and potato dumpling for share as the waiter recommended this meal for us. The taste was absolutly amazing and the price is really reasonable for that quality they served. Special thanks to kadek for such a profesional service, good maner and really full of smile:) Highly recomend this place to everyone.

Really good but could be great

We went to hibiscus for dinner and really enjoyed it. Well presented restaurant, good service and good menu featuring indonesian food from different areas. The happy hour cocktails were good and our entrees ( chicken spring rolls and miso wonton soup) and mains ( beef rendang and nasi goreng) were all tasty. We felt a little let down by the spice levels - we enjoy our spice ( not to normal indonesian levels 😀 but reasonable) and found all of the dishes lacked a spice hit that would have elevated the flavour and we were not offered different options on the spice level. Even the sambal oelek was a quite mild.

Simply Amazing

I went to hibiscus yesterday. At this time is bit difficult to find a place to eat around this area because so many restaurants are closed during Covid-19. Finally I found this little restaurant. Small but cozy, they serve local authentic food with modern touch. Great taste and beautifully presented on the table. Highly recommend this little Hidden Gem if you are in Seminyak area

We visited Hibiscus a couple of times as was close to our villa. We were welcomed with a drink and snack. The food is fresh and tasty, we tried a number of dishes over a couple of days but could no go past the chicken spring rolls, very tasty. We also had the beef rendang, local chicken curry and a variety of statrters. very reasonably priced and great service from the team.

Amazing food

I went there with my friends, it was a great dinner. The food was delicious, plus it was local food, which is hard to find sometimes in Bali, where almost every place has only western food... Would totally recommend. Also, the staff was so nice.

Amazing food tucked away in Seminyak

The food here was amazing and the service staff very helpful, especially Evi. We had the Beef Rendang, Pork Laksa, mahi cooked in a banana leaf, and a couple of cocktails. All of these were recommendations and they did not disappoint. The place is a little bit off the Main Street in Seminyak, but it’s definitely worth seeking out. Definitely the most flavorful beef rendang I have had in Bali thus far.

Tasty and good size of portion. Great service . Yuli was caring about us everything was great . Maybe a bit expensive but it is serving unique food and taste therefore need to be ready to pay above a bit

Best Restaurant in Seminyak

Many restaurants are closed during the Covid-19 issue and we were lucky to finally found this Hidden Gem. Great food and pleasant atmosphere. one of the best restaurants in this area. Highly recommend to visit this little restaurant 5⭐️++

Great value food and service

This restaurant provides quality fare at inexpensive prices. The friendly English speaking staff offer superior service. Classic Indonesian dishes such as Beef Rendang are offered along with delicious vegetables and modestly priced cocktails.

Valentine's meal

We had a lovely meal in this place on Valentine's day. The staff were polite, friendly and very attentive. The food was lovely. Although this restaurant may be a little away from the busier streets, it's well worth the walk. You won't be disappointed.

Why so few customers?

Revisited after a few weeks’ gap and everything was every bit as good as before. They’ve added to the menu to cater to other nationalities’ tastes but it’s still way too quiet given the quality of food and Made’s service. The only things missing are customers.

Dear Peter, thank you so much for your kind words. We are always happy to see you in Hibiscus. We also miss our guests but in the current situation, Seminyak where we are located is almost empty. We still keep Hibiscus opened so that our guests who are ready to drive a little to enjoy our cuisine can do it, and also to support our staff during these difficult times for Bali. You are absolutely right, we have added several Russian dishes to the menu. By the way, we guarantee that Russian dishes are completely authentic, as they are prepared according to Russian home recipes. Thanks again for your wonderful review, we are waiting for you and everyone who wants to enjoy delicious and high-quality food in Hibiscus.
