Myself and my partner had the pleasure of visiting the Millhouse Kitchen last week as we were going for a complimentary wine tasting in Lourensford Wine Estate. I am so glad we were recommended this restaurant and I have to say the pork belly meal was the best food I ate in my entire two week stay in Cape Town!... More

My wife and I went for dinner in late December. The location is amazing, one of the most beautiful estates in the region. The food was fantastic, especially the Chicken Liver Pate. Our waitron, Willab was very attentive and friendly, and it was an overall great experience. We'll definitely be returning in the near future.

Nicely decorated interiors, stunning location with resonable prices but the menu choices and food itself was decidedly underwhelming. You know that when it takes everyone half an hour to settle on a meal that the menu probably needs a shake up. I chose the Line fish mainly because the pizza choices were so boring. It is pretty difficult to make... More

Came to millhouse on Sunday evening, to have a drink with friends, greeted at the door with very friendly staff and our waiter recommended pizza. Crispy pizza with bacon, mushrooms, garlic and chilli. Totally worth the recommendation. Thank you very much for a lovely evening Josh.

We wewre invited to The Millhouse for a lunch by friends, so the company was great. The food was acceptable but the whole experience did not blow me away. Would i go back, No. The outbuildings of the wine farm are hideous, half brown half white and the poor security guard at the garden, his clothes were awfully dirty.

Had a super lunch with the whole family. Consistent as always and super friendly staff. Doing their best during the fires that are raging all about. Well done to all😀

We have had so many happy breakfasts and lunches here with the children and grandchildren. Friendly and helpful staff. The menu caters for all and the food is of good quality.

This is a very hard place to review, I've had the most fantastic pizza's here and the worst dinner. Great breakfast as part of a very large party but the service was horrific. Mediocre breakfast for two with great, friendly service. But if I have to make a call I think this restaurant has either had a change of management... More

Had breakfast with my family at the Mill House Kitchen for the first time since they have opened. It was delicious! All our meals - from the mini breakfast, the full house, the fresh croissants with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, as well as the french toast stack made with ciabatta bread! Waiting time was very short - the restaurant... More

Description
Founded in 1700, Lourensford Estate has married its historic heritage with a vision to be at the forefront of modern wine technology and a leader amongst South African Wine producers.

Owner & Executive Chef, Bjorn Guido's cooking career started at The Greenhouse at Cellars-Hohenort under chef Peter Templehoff. He then moved abroad and joined Babington House, part of the SOHO HOUSE group under the renowned Ronnie Bonetti of River Cafe London. After gaining experience abroad, he returned home and took up the role of Head Chef at The Franschhoek Kitchen on the Holden Manz Wine Estate.

Food provenance and sustainability are core to Millhouse's philosophy. The eatery's contemporary barn-conversion interior puts a modern twist on classic elements, featuring a mix of leather banquette seating and reclaimed timber walls. Bjorn's aim was to create a neighbourhood feel where guests can relax and enjoy each other's company. Watch as food is prepared in the expansive open kitchen and Italian style pizza's are delivered fresh from the wood fired oven.
