My boy friend ordered the lasagna and I ordered the pork shoulder, but after tasting his lasagna i had to have one to. I have never been a fan of lasagna but this one was amazing.

This is a nice change in Franschhoek as it is low-key, quality food delivered in huge portions with a large smile. Menu is on a blackboard, and come hungry! We had the pickled cape malay fish, the duck parfait, the seared tuna salad main and the duck confit, and all were excellent. Wine list is not large, but includes Stony... More

We had an amazing meal at Café Des Arts. I like the small, contained menu and laid-back atmosphere. My gazpacho starter was delicious and perfect for this hot Summer's day in the Boland; some of the best bread I have ever tasted was served with it. My Duck Confit main was very well prepared; succulent meat with crispy skin. I... More

Cafe Des Arts is very unpretentious. The food is nice, but nothing to write home about. On the negative side, they lost our reservation but gave us a table anyway, but only for a limited time.

Step off the gorgeous main st in Franschoek and step into a place that does simple food really well - all home cooking too. Not for you if you're looking for a sandwich lunch - it's got proper meals at reasonable prices in a quirky setting away from some of the pretentiousness outside.....

My wife and I had booked foliage for our last night in Franschoek but needed a place to eat on our arrival. This place is so unpretentious the food is excellent and well presented. Tiwan looked after our every need and was so obliging, the chef was happy to chat with us. We were so enamoured with the place we... More

Great Tuna probably the best I've ever eaten! Good service and wine suggestions too. They serve wine by the carafe or glass which meant we could try a couple of different wines too.

This is a breath of fresh air amid the fine dining of Franschhoek. The tables are set in a lovely outdoor terrace dotted with trees. The servers are quick, friendly and helpful, low-key in casual shorts and t-shirts. There is a very short but well chosen and keenly priced winelist. The menu is on a travelling chalkboard, and the food... More

Found this restaurant on trip advisor when everything else seemed booked up. Read the reviews and decided we would be safe. The owners of the b&b said we'd chosen a local favourite. What a delightful meal. The risotto was fab, duck parfait amazing. Yellowtail was perfect. And then came the puddings. What a great meal. Will definitely return.

Made new friends, went for ribs. Had beers, some luscious wines and watched the football too. A great introductory first night to one of our favourite places in the world.
