We look forward to visiting Walpack Inn in its lovely rural, rustic setting, yet even after many visits, come away under whelmed. The staff is top notch, but the food is so-so. Not good value. The idea of charging for a fill-up of iced tea is, to put it politely, tacky Realize that you are paying for ambiance and the setting.

I have been to this gem hidden in Sussex County for over 30 years! I love the food, the setting, the views and the deer who make it a great overall experience. Food is well prepared, fresh salad and what bread!!! Can't wait till they open after winter break Try it you'll love it!

Of all the eateries in the area the Walpack Inn is our absolute favorite. Don't be discouraged if you feel like you're lost in the woods on the way there. The secluded location is part of its charm. Their specialty bread is a staple! The decor is very country (and includes some taxidermy) and you may get to see deer,... More

I have heard about the Walpack Inn from many people but never made it there. A friend took us there for a holiday treat. It is a beautiful place with a wood burning fire place, classic oak bar, and open windows looking out over the acres of fields and woods. As soon as you walk in, the aroma of the... More

Went to the Walpack Inn for dinner. Place is cool but the food was terrible. My friend ordered stuffed shrimp, it came with 3 shrimp, the size of small appetizer. Both guys had steak which they discribed as tasteless and I had tough chicken. A wasted $200 for dinner. Very disappointed!! Waitress was in such a hurry she basically threw... More

More like a diner, get the people in and out as quick as possible. I was still eating my salad when my meal came. My friend's soup came while we were eating salad. The salad bar was very good, side potato and rice dishes were small portions. The atmosphere was fine, seating was comfortable.

So we went for a drive to buttermilk falls and when I looked at the gps I saw a town called Walpack. I remember seeing something on Facebook about a Walpack Inn and decided we should try it. Wow I was definitely pleased! From the outside this place didn't look so hot, but inside it was quaint and warm and... More

Unique ambiance and history. Taxidermy animals throughout the place. Open only on Friday - Sunday. Been here 5 times over 20 years. They used to have an old Honky Tonk Piano player by the bar. He has been replace by tables so you can drink while you wait for about 1.5 hrs. Beautiful views, you might see Deer since they... More

What we have here is a very special place. Not exactly on the beaten path, yet in a beautiful part of the State. The food is excellent. The menu covers all the bases, but we opted for ribeye steaks. Cannot remember the last time we had such a good piece of beef. It was prepared exactly as requested. The onion... More

I love the ambiance and history here. It's in the middle of the Delaware Water Gap. Beautiful views, spacious dining areas, incredible fireplace. Rustic and older. The food is simple. If you like food w/o a lot of jazz, then you will enjoy it. People go nuts for the bread. I'm a real flavor person, so the bread seems bland... More
